The 5th on the march

Good Lord! It's not only the 5th Company! I'm sure that's me in a blue Royal Academy blazer second from the left margin of the photo and I was in the 1st. By the look of myself that would date it probably around 1966 (when the Palace would still have been a cinema I think) and it's probably a Battalion Church Parade returning to Washington Court along Huntly Street from a service in the West, Queen Street or St Mark's church.

Regarding the 5th, I can certainly see Scoobies (Billy Urquhart's late father in law who was Caotain) in the officer's Glengarry just to the left of the entrance of what is now STV on Huntly Street.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised Charlie. Looks gey small though from this rear-side angle. That  was a massive wheel I remember.

Someone told me that the whole mill has gone now. Is this correct?

Island of Scotland.....Inverness harbour the big shed behind the train was opposite the Citadel bar and the one to the left is the old Thornbush Slipway building.

The "Island of Sodor" reference was merely a nod to Thomas The Tank Engine!
