The Blackfriars in Inverness have had some good bands in the past - my be worth giving them a tinkle for some contacts. No sure if bands like BIRO (Black Isle Rock Orchestra) or Ezzra (another rock cover band) are still doing their bit or not but they were excellent when I last heard them.
