How do you like going to away matches?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I hope I have posted this in the right topic, but I am keen to ask about the experience of Inverness fans when going to away games in the SPL.

As part of my university work, I am currently working with the SPL to do some research about fans attending away games. As part of this, I am keen to get the perspective of a broad range of fans from all the clubs across the league. If you would like to take the opportunity to fill out an anonymous survey, taking just a few minutes, then you can help the SPL improve the experience of being an away fan.

Please copy the following link into your browser: http://tinyurl.com/35l34rc

Thank you very much for taking the time.

I'm not a master of English, no where near it infact, however I'm sure it should be "why" not "how".

Platdejour Cher,

Beaucoup d'amour - xxx Howdy

I may not actually be French, but I do speak it - so I enjoyed your comment! lol.

Thanks to all those who have filled out the survey, please encourage friends and family to do the same so that Inverness are well-represented! :)

I'm not one to comment on peoples' grammar etc, but, the highlighted part translates as, "the best wee ever existed." I'm not sure thats what the poster ment to say. There again, as its IHE, maybe he did mean that :tongueincheek:

I took your survey after seeing it on P&B. Would be interesting to see the results from ICT fans. Good luck with your research.

Thanks! I am happy to say there have been a good number of responses already but I could do with more ICT fans to balance out the other teams in the SPL. So please feel free to pass it on to friends/family. Cheers :)

Will you post the results of ICT fans on here?

I am not too sure, the ICT responses form an important part of fans experiences from across the league - so most of the analysis will be done on the wider sample. Obviously, it is really important that ICT fans get involved so they can be well-represented, and hopefully contribute to making a difference with the SPL. :)

Thanks to all those who have taken the survey but I am keen for more ICT fans to get involved so the club is well-represented! If anyone wants to talk about their specific experiences, feel free to post those too!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days - I have been pretty ill!

Thanks for the whole range of responses guys, please feel free to post any of your particular experiences as I will be noting down all the themes that people bring up!

There has been a massive response to the survey, but I am keen for as many ICT fans as possible to represent the club properly, so please pass on the survey to anyone else who might be interested! icon_smile.gif

Hi, I would just like to remind people that the survey is still running for the timebeing! It would be great to get a few more ICT fans on board! Cheers :)

If you'd be willing to post the results you might get a few more responses?

The issue of publishing any results would need to be approved by the SPL, which is what makes it difficult. Unfortunately, I can't do much more than that.

But I would like to say happy new year everybody! I hope you all had a good time over Christmas and thanks very much to everyone for their feedback to the survey.

The survey will continue to run until 12noon on Monday the 10th of January, so there is still time to encourage other fans of your club to get involved.

The survey can be accessed at the following link: http://tinyurl.com/35l34rc

Cheers :)

It would have been nice to have had a comments section so I could have explained why Ayr was the best away experience.

Seriously though, it's difficult to give a proper answer to the more generic questions. What if you find two grounds really hostile, and the rest completely friendly?

Basically what is required to improve the matchday experience (ugh) is standing / less power-trip stewards / alcohol probably in that order.

Thanks Alimci, the generic questions are designed to guage fans' general perceptions and then the best/worst experiences capture more specific information.

Thanks very much to everyone for taking the survey so far, there is less than 24 hours left to get involved - so please pass the survey on to anyone else who may be interested ahead of 12noon tomorrow! Cheers! :)
