Heard that he could be in line for Raith job.  Would like to see him back at ICT any chance that ICT could approach him to join our coaching staff?

Wee Ian Stewart was a scoring legend! I remember he used to dink the ball over many a keepers head. Brilliant. He did okay at Peterhead. He was a brilliant player for us (in the lower divisions), but I'm not sure if I'm a fan of his managerial qualities. He'll always be a legend at ICT though.

I'm sure he could contribute as much on the park as McSwegan.

The Stewart/Mathers partnership deserves another crack at managing a club.

Unless something went on behind the scenes which is not yet public knowledge they were very shabbily treated by Peterhead.

I'm totally guessing here, but IF the Peterhead board discovered that Stewart/Mathers had been in unauthorised talks with another club like Raith, would that have been a breach of trust significant enough to punt them?

I don't think that is what happened. If anything what happened was they had already contacted Paterson and Cooper before Saturdays game with Cowdenbeath.

Although a goal scoring legend with us in the lower divisions, he was part-time with Peterhead and I don't know what he could bring to our table on the full-time coaching front. He has always demanded big money for his services and I wouldn't be surprised if he was sacked for speaking to others behind his employers backs. Didn't like the guy but loved every one of his goals.

or maybe HE discovered his club had been in unauthorised talks with SP to replace him ? I am guessing we will never know both sides of the story.

Surely he would have left on his own steam if that were the case Scotty. I'm surprised nothing has come out yet.
