Whilst celebrating the full-time whistle on Wed. it seems that I ruptured my right Gastrocnemius! Ooh err!!

Doc has signed me off for a week to start with.................I'll miss all those New Year shifts.....****!!

Won't stop me hobbling along to Falkirk................

Oh dear, not the largest muscle in the calf of the leg, the action of which extends the foot, raises the heel, and assists in bending the knee.

Aye, olde age right eenuff.

Just as well you are not American, you would never have known what was wrong with you:=

A muscle with its origin from the lateral and medial condyles of the femur, with insertion with the soleus muscle by the Achilles tendon into the lower half of the posterior surface of the calcaneus, with nerve supply from the tibial nerve, and whose action causes plantar flexion of the foot.
