OK, it's Redcastle in the Black Isle.

I've driven along the coast road on Google Maps, and cannot see it.  Nor can I pinpoint that passing place.

And I reckon that if you were that far away from the road, your feet must have been very wet!

You are right snorbens you can't see it from streetview.  Here it is from the other side of the firth.IMG_8087.JPG

I have had a quick look for schools or former schools on the Black Isle    Not with the wee yellow man, though.  Have seen a couple - Mulbuie and Newhall - which are similar.

Discolouring on the chimney and slates and the direction of the TV aerial would suggest that it's in the quadrant north-west of Mounteagle/Rosemarkie.  But most of the Black Isle is, anyway.

And you could both be trying to mislead me!

Go on, tell me...

It's the old Killearnan school just northwest of Redcastle

It's used now by the Scouts and Girl Guides(not at the same time) as a sort of hostel

I thought at first that it might be Loch Garry, south-west from Dalnaspidal.  It's not that.

But there can't be many lochs with a slope on them like that

Great for waterskiing though 😉
Loch Ericht?

I am tempted to say Loch Ruthven, but I can't see any online photographs that convince me...

Getting closer

Killin...?

That's it. Nice walk along the side of the loch and then up by the river. Get's steeper then, heading up towards the wind farm

Sat & fished off a ledge at the bottom of the steep sloping side many years ago. Loch was full of small arctic char. Interesting drive from whitebridge in a pre vw era Skoda.

Should probably pay a return visit, as it's been a long time & windfarms were just a flight of fancy back then.
