Hilarious, but it's quite incredible as well that something which today would instantly fall foul of the Advertising Standards Authority should survive more than 50 years ago!

The guy on the right is needing new boots!

Nah there's life in them yet. He will have them half soled and some segs in the toes and get another year out of them......or give them to his son at Christmas

I didn't have one as good as that, its got brakes I just wore out the heels of my shoes :lol:

McDermott's where some people made a lot of money and spent it very quickly!  I never fancied working there when it opened up don't know why but when I went onsite later working for BT I was hated it with a wind sand was blowing everywhere and it was worse in the rain!

Yupp Dixon.......and then came Z cars the next cop soap.

Jack Warner, who played Dixon of Dock Green, did so until he was an incredible age for a policeman!

We were easy pleased in them days!

Segs--that's a word that I haven't heard since my youth.

Pit some in my newer shoes in our shed with a hammer and a shoe stand when I was about 17 to climb the slopes of Ben Nevis with the Academy hikers and came back with virtually nothing left on the soles. Them thar rocks scraped the metal right off!
