Reference has been made to Derby's old stomping ground. How was it that a football ground in the East Midlands came to be named after a quinessentially U.S. sport ?

It was actually a baseball ground! A local factory or ironworks or something like that was owned by Americans, who introduced the game to the workers and provided them with the facilities.
