We're still top!

I tuned into the radio to hear the match at parkhead this afternoon. Partly as a fan of Dennis Wyness and partly to see if we would be top of the league for the second day of the season!

Seemed strange to see who the referee was (Smith) after the controversial Nakamura free kick at love street last season.

Anywho - sounded like the saints were unlucky today, and Wyness did make his appearence late on, and ICT are still top of the league - Woo Hoo.

One wee twist though - How can Allan McGregor be man of the match when he plays for rangers? BBC balls up

Did Mark McGhee really say this live on radio during yeterdays game ;)

" If that penalty had rebounded out to the referee, he would have put it in the net himself."

Dodgy decision apparently, must go and take a look online.

He did indeed :015:

It was an atrocious decision. Vinegar has a big handful of Hainings shirt, and probably some of his skin, Hainings arms are in the air, no contact but Mr O'Smith gives a penalty. No way would the tims have scored otherwise.

Damn disgraceful decision from the official. And some hilarious reporting from Keith Jackson in the Daily Record today:

The truth is Smith - the man who generously awarded Shunsuke Nakamura a match winning freekick at Love Street last term - could do little else but blow up as Haining had got himself into horrible mess and, in his desperation, the defender blatantly attempted to haul Vennegoor of Hesselink back.

What a clown

If the referees want ?1,000 per match, they've got to stop just giving decisions to the OF and get a feckin grip. It was an atrocious decision, and I have absolutely no doubt that if it was Caldwell & Wyness at the other end later on he wouldn't even have thought about giving it. Feel sorry for Haining, but at least he's got Michelle Marsh to go home to :rotflmao:

It does go to show that referees are more intimdiated about descions during a game involving the old firm.

Alan Freeland did it with us against Celtic and he got plastered for it by Media...not by us though :rotflmao:
