Looking back at the stats when we won the 1st Division our home form looked like this.

Played 18

Won 14

Drew 4

Lost 0

So with 2 loses and 1 draw so far we need to put things in order quickly if we are going to have any chance of promotion

I think all knew that we had to improve at home what shocked me was we how good our home form was when we won the league

We got used to winning. It raised hope, our expectations went up with that........and now we will take badly to being losers. We also had good players and good managers at the club then, we are well short of that standard now in both aspects.

Historically our home record has been bad. 04/05 7 wins out of 20, (4) 05/06 5 wins out of 18,( 6) 06/07 8 wins out of 19, (6) 07/08 9 wins out of 19, (3) 08/09 4 wins out of 19 (5). Figures in brackets are draws. Our best season was Charlies full season when we won 8 and drew 6 out of 19. at home that season wasn't so good though Only 3 wins and 7 draws out of 19.

Of the 4 managers we've had in the SPL CC is the only one that seemed to be able to address the home fprm problem.

Yep but I was speaking about the 1st Division which is more relevant at present

Personally I feel that part of the reason is the new stadium - in the First Division the singing section STOOD together and sometimes packed in together - there was a good atmosphere the season that we won the First Division - but again it is always better when we were winning. Perhaps Bobby Mann would disagree !!

you have a point, but the club are telling stewards to enforce 'no standing' and even censoring words from songs so its a no win situation. I should probably add that it appears to be restricted to the home end as ive lost count of the times away fans come to our stadium and stand if they want and sing what they like. i saw a game on the TV the other week of the Manchester United vs Liverpool game and saw crowd footage of thousands of people standing. If standing at games is tolerated and also not causing direct health and safety problems at a stadium with over 70,000 fans then why is it such a problem at TCS?

IMO i think the home form problem is all psychological, its not that we cant play well because we can. Its something that we need to sort out ASAP because if not we are going to see a mid-table finish in Div 1 at best!

It's because I only go to away games. It's my fault. Sorry everyone, I'll start coming up the A9 on Saturdays.

Your point about standing is spot on. I was at Huddersfield Town game in a newish stadium, on Saturday. In the crowd of nearly 15,000 there were groups standing and singing all through the game, from both sets of fans, drums all through the game some swearing and abuse shouted(deservedly) from fans at players and officials, and yet I never seen a steward tell anyone to shut up or sit down. There was no trouble and it was a great atmosphere.

PS: And the food was excellent as well as being able to have a beer before the game and at half-time as well as watch SSN on the numerous TV's around the ground for ICT updates. Well maybe it wasn't all good.

PPS. Huddersfield have a LDZ clone. Theo Robinson, looks like, runs like, has a touch like and plays like LDZ
