BBC Slanders ICT

Not to mention burglary, manslaughter and inquest.

Of course such creeping anglasisation is not only fueled by sloppy lazy journalists but also by some of our senior educationalists who appear these days, by and large, to prefer to be referred to as head teacher rather than the long standing scottish term of rector.

I agree with Charles that the, non applicable, terms libel and slander are among those most frequntly used even by journalists working for the more august scottish media organs.

Surely it's high time we reclaimed our own terminology.

Kingsmills.... I believe the term "Rector" strictly refers to the person in charge of a senior secondary school. Primary schools have head teachers and in the case of Millburn, when it achieved "promotion" from junior secondary to six year comprehensive status in the late 70s, the head teacher Willie Weatherspoon was similarly upgraded to rector.

By the way, what's the Scots law equivalent of manslaughter?

Not to mention the fabulous results in the swimming pool in Australia last year of the youngsters winning something like 5 gold, one silver(or 2?)  and one bronze. Unbelievable performances by "Scotland" athletes.

But Scotland doesn't have polar bears or Indians. Ha!?  :012: :006:
