Here is yet another big band and some old cars for the old boys :cheer01:

Ah The Corries now that's better :clapping:  Front of late 50's Austin A40 Somerset, Ford Cortina, Morris Minor & Ford Prefect

It's not the Playhouse as I remember it, I thought you went up steps and I have never herd of Soldiers and Sailors Home in Inverness.  The photo is from Baron Taylors St with the Imperial Bar on the left which was still called that until the late seventies.  And the car may be a Triumph Mayflower

Yep, and a lot smaller than I remember...but then.......I saw Spartacus in that place and more than once in North America since then. Smile

So are you Spartacus as well?  I think the Tourist Board was in there before the pet shop. That photo kind of looks a bit 1950s. I don't remember the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home though.

Chas,  now you are over seventy I can understand why you don't want to publish your age in your profile. Hoch! Hoch!

But Laddie,i t's nae age that coonts, old chap, but spirit and what's in the heart. Yesssss.!

Me, Spartacus and Scarlet all look like gateposts so who recognizes any one of us in a kilt eh? And ...who cares?

Maybe that's why sometimes we are each of us confused with Braveheart . In this case it's always the hairy legs that brings home the bacon...isn't that right Oddquine? :notworthy:

IBM - yes I remember the Playhouse like this with the Soldiers, Sailors Home above the STB offices and there were no steps up, only steps after the ticket office inside before you got to the Stalls and the stairs up to the Balcony. The Palace had steps up on the outside though.

Better transport

Long before Greigs, Macbraynes and Highland. The V reg is a surprise, it would be an improvement from the horse & cart but would have been a bumpy journey with the solid rubber tyres. Note the bus is chain driven on the rear axel and must have been expensive as they all look like toffs!

More feckin cars

Missed this one, Morris Six, the next I don't know but note it has a foreign registration with a Vauxhall ( may be a Victor) tucked in behind.
