Inverness Caledonian Thistle's first experience of European Football was beating Danish Premier League side Nordsjaelland 1-0 in Copenhagen in July 2005 with David Proctor scoring with a glancing header.

It wasn't in 2005 - it was 2008.
We didn't even win that game - it finished 1-1.
It wasn't our first game against European opposition - it was our third.
But, good thread!

I once saw us win a game of football.  If we can do it then, we can do it now!

Sorry Sneckboy it was 2005 and we did win the match 1-0 the 2008 match you refer to was the clubs second visit to play FC Nordsjaelland

There were certainly two during the Montecatini trip in 2006 - which was the first continental trip. I certainly remember being at the first one which broke all manner of records ranging from the fastest goal to the smallest crowd. I didn't stay out for the whole trip and after I left there was another game against a Romanian team who reportedly screamed and dived and assaulted and generally misbehaved whenever they could get away with it. (Oops... is my timing a bit unfortunate here?)

There would also presumably have been friendlies during the Montecatini trip in 2007, which I didn't attend, so by the time of the Denmark one in 2008, after Brewster had taken over from Charlie, the opening game there might well have been more than the third.

Sorry both, our first 'European' game was against Nykobing Falster Alliancen and we lost 2-1. We did win at FC Nordsjaelland 0-1 and Morten Wieghorst was their coach at the time. I know, because I was there along with a few others. (mee, alex macleod, Jemes Rendal, Zogg, Mrs tm4tj). First goal was scored by Liam Fox at NFA after we were 2-0 down. Great week that was.
