Whilst it is a real shame for him to pick up a major injury, is there perhaps some irony in the fact that it is the 3rd World Cup in a row in which he has thrown himself to the ground without contact from the opposition?

Looked like a sore one as soon as he slumped to the ground. Out for 5 months maybe....ouch.

Greavsie got injured in the group stages, forcing Alf to select Geoff Hurst for the knockout stages... the rest, as they say, is history...  :016:

A real shame for the lad. He'll now be on sick pay for a good six months now... :017:
