Have just finished reading - Can We Have Our Balls Back Please?- a book about how the British invented most of the major sports played nowadays. Goes into the history/origins of each sport and how they progressed and developed into the modern versions played today. Packed with facinating facts, humourous and well written. You think you know about football until you read this book. While the Scots are not accredited with inventing football they are accredited with inventing the modern passing game- Queens Park to be precise. Go out and buy it and read it, well worth the money. Author is Julian Norridge and the publisher is Penguin.

Another great read recently was - The Young Stalin - author Simon Seabag Montifore , or something like that.

Any good recommendations.

Tim Lovejoy released a book a year or two ago called Lovejoy On Football.

It goes on about his personal experiences and opinions of everything football, from games to fans to mascots. Pretty funny in parts but a decent book all the same.

I'm currently reading business type books at the moment, and duncan bannantynes two books Anyone Can Do It and Wake Up And Change Your Life are really good.

Do they have to be new books? If not then

"The Electric Kool-aid acid test" Tom Wolfe. There is a film in development so if you have not read the book do so now before the film ruins it.

"On the road" Jack Kerouac

"Catch 22" Joseph Heller.

"The doors of perception" Aldous Huxley now in print with another of his works "Heaven and Hell" as one book.

"No one here gets out alive" Jerry Hopkins.

The "God delusion" Richard Dawkins.

"Tricks of the mind" Derren Brown

"Body language" and "Persuasion" both by James Borg.
