Terry Butcher has been named 1st Division Manager of the Year and Adam Rooney 1st Division Player of the Year

Just seen it on the BBC website. Great news. Obviously we knew Rooney was winning Top Goalscorer, and we all really knew Butcher would win Manager of the year.

I can understand and agree with County getting a special achievement award, but Team of the Year as well? Nonsense. They are the 5th best team in the SFL.

Exactly. They proved themselves to be sh1te.

In the last 5 years 3 First division teams reached the cup final so its hardly a novelty or an incredible achievement. And the previous teams at least put up a fight and a good performance.

As for beating Celtic, they were put out of the Scottish cup by (mostly weaker) first division teams 4 times in the last 10 years so again, it's hardly a novelty or an incredible achievement. But I don't grudge them the "special achievement" award for the cup run.

The team that came from nowhere to romp the league by 12 points, scoring more goals than anyone, going 21 games unbeaten and doing the clean sweep of beating all the other teams in their last 9 games, was the real team of the year. We all know that.

That's like saying the BNP are the political party of the year. They got the 5th most votes in the election and like County won nothing.
