Play off final 2nd leg (ict 1-2 Accies)

Recommended Posts

Might sound like captain obvious here, but it was painfully clear that a majority of the "fans" who pitch invaded to confront the Accies fans were one timers who've probably watched Green Street one too many times and likely have never set foot inside the stadium before or will again.

Compared to the real fans who all went over to the touchline to make our voices known and let the players still there that we weren't making them out as targets. Hell, even Samuel apologised to the few fans waiting out front of the ground when he left.

Probably because he hadn't realised until the final whistle that we were so bad even god couldn't help

A board member confirmed to me last night that Ferguson is on a 6 month rolling contract, rather than the 3 year deal he keeps referring to in interviews. Based on recent rumours it would sound like it would cost between 130-150k to pay him off. If the guy had any class at all he'd walk today but you can guarantee he'll hang on in there and pocket the pay-off he ill deserves and clearly doesn't need. His post-match comments were beyond belief.

It's fairly standard for managers to have a 6 month pay-off in their contracts, even if they do have multiple year deals.  This means the club control the cost of sacking them and they can't walk away early without the club getting whatever transfer valuation is also in the contract.

There are those on here who refuse to believe otherwise but this was the same with Yogi and Foran.

There was an interview with the manager after the match on Saturday. Why is this not up and available online yet?. Seems like the press and journalists have more of an insight to what the manager is thinking than the fans. This is absolutely unacceptable !

Did you say “Green Street” or “Grant Street”?😂

It seems to be generally accepted that fans can come on to pitches at the end of a season to celebrate an achievement, without repercussions. We’ve done it home and away (Ayr) and at least one team had previously celebrated on our pitch (Dundee Utd). I don’t recall any trouble at those, and I don’t begrudge giving Hamilton fans the opportunity to celebrate their promotion.
You can blame the club or stewards, but surely it also comes down to individuals taking responsibility for their own conduct.

Partick were also on our pitch last day as well back in the early 2000s .. our fans were applauding them mind you we hadn 't just been relegated

Went to a few matches towards the end of the season :

  • No apparent urgency considering our increasingly perilous position.
  • Clueless going forward : no idea what to do from 30 yards in.
  • No fight. A glaring example was Hamilton's second goal in the first leg : there were four or 5 ICT defenders around the 6 yard box and none of them jumped or made any effort to attack the ball, watching the Hamilton player as he scored with no challenge.
  • No shape / plan / leader.
  • Team made up of individuals and it showed horribly.

Truly truly awful : we need people in charge who have a passion for the club as we did in our first 20 years.
