A couple of things I can read in to this, Barrowloads in no more a key player IMO than I am. and by the looks of it we maybe loaning out some players to make way for us to loan in...

I wonder whos for a move

Id like to seen Barrowman out on loan, It would free up his wages to get in someone worth there salt

and a couple of others but I'd just be boring you if i said who... you'll know

I think barrowman will be key this year. I would like to see rooney go out on loan because i dont think we need him this year. And if we do put him out on loan it can only do him good and make him a better player rather than sitting on the bench at us all season.

The only players I can really see going out on loan are the likes of Nick Ross and Shane Sutherland. These sorts of players.

Posted

I cant see them being on a massive amount of money for loaning them out (wages free'd up) Rooney maybe but barrowmans big wage could bring in 2 better loan deals....

Posted

Why would we be looking to loan out our top scorer from last season?

Barrowman loaned out to someone more his level - like Clach or Inverness City would really add to the lads confidence.

Daniel Park, Nick Ross mayb'e Gavin Morrison because we have alot of midfielders.

I don't see Shane Sutherland going out on loan as he could make an impact in the 1st team and given we are lacking up front i think that will only further his chances.

Say's he spoke to Craig Levein about "Who's available".

Does that mean for us?

No one would dare take Barrowman. We're stuck with him.

Code for, No one would want him!! Im holding out for a deal with Forres for him, I buy one pie and CaleyD gets one free..

Fair point Jay_7, I hope he features this year and I dont really want to see him go out on loan, Im thinking now forres could get a 2 for 1, If we get the pie deal we'll throw Duncan in too..

Moving Barrowman out on loan wouldn't free up his wages. Can't think of many SFL clubs willing to part with ?1,600 a week. We might save a small amount per week if he were too move. Still think he could be decent if we change our style to suit him. If we don't then there is no point in him featuring in the team.

I'll drive them both there myself if that goes through.

OK he needs the ball to his feet right foot if he is to do anything with it. Here's the problem though, our most creative players are now wingers who put high balls into the box. We have no one in the centre of the park with the creativity required to give Barrowman the delivery he needs to feed off if he is to do well.

Hence my longing for a creative midfielder in the mould of Black or Rankin to slip Barrowman a wee through ball that sees him run off his last man and fire home. Obviously I don't expect him to run half the length of the pitch like Torres more someone like Boyd who seems to live off wee balls played to him just inside / outside the box. And that is the problem I feel - no one in the centre of the pitch can play that killer pass in the final third to allow someone like Barrowman to flourish.

wee johnny Hayes looked to have the wee though ball touch, and Eagles also looks like he has an eye for a pass, Barrowman played well off foran in the friendlys but from what i saw of him he was just feeding off Chances Foran gifted to Barrowman.....

As for on loan players, I was under the impression the club still owned the player but the club they were loaned to picks up his wages....

Not in the slightest! Some clubs take over the wages, or maybe a percentage or none at all. Same with some transfers. Look at Fowler when he moved to Man City from Leeds - he was still getting paid by Leeds even after he had left

That's because.....................that is Barrowboys game. He lives off scraps. Hes not a creator. He needs somone to give him half chances. Do that for him this season, we will see the player we all thought we had signed. With the service the forwards were getting last season, not even the likes of Kaka would have make a difference!

SMEE's bang on from what I've seen of Barrowloads, Its a bad shout that a striker feeding a striker..

Remind us RiG , how many did he score from the service of Black and Rankin last season ?

How many games did Rankin play for us last season?

I'm with RIG on this one, our team not only needs more creativity but also needs some decent wingers hopefully Sanchez, Eagles and Hayes fit the bill. In the SPL we defended for our lives and tried to counter, which would only suit a certain type of player (i.e. Bayne, Dargo). IMO Barrowman is a 6-yard-box striker and now we will hopefully playing more possesion football and pressing teams rather than being pressed he'll be more effective.....

I thought there was going to be a change in attitude from our supporters this season after the way we got behind ALL the players for the last 6 games of the season??? So far in our first game back against Montrose (although a dire result) we had some idiot asking for Brewster back and some other nimrod shouting abuse at Butcher.... same old... same old!

Remeber Barrowman jumped 2 divisions and played his first season at a new club in the SPL, he's a proven goal scorer although in a lower division. Let him kick a ball before we get the pitch forks out

For a start Brewster had the play flowing from defence over the top of the midfield and down the throats of the marking centre backs so that takes Black out of the play. Now I do believe Rankin was playing for Hibs last season... Do correct me if I'm wrong though...

I agree with what you are saying HC 100%

No band wagon DALNEIGHCALEY but you didnt Edit your post after it was pointed out... so well someone else is going to say somthing...

My mistake re Rankin , by the way jay it was pointed out by Vinnie a while ago but if theres a bandwagon to jump on ..............

FYI I hit reply as soon as I read your usual illustrative contribution before anyone else had responded. As I'm at work I was doing other things at the time. But by all means just continue to make yourself look like a tw@t.

Anyway... back to talking about what this thread is actually about....

Duff IMO is likely to be one of the guys heading out on loan to give him some more first team experience - something that's not likely to happen here for him if we're bringing in Bulvitis or what ever his name is.

From the services of those two players about 0 goals I think but as has already been mentioned we spent most of last season either getting rogered or pumping the ball long up front and not in the manner I have talked about where Barrowman might flourish.

First game of last season and Tokely fired that brilliant ball across the Aberdeen box and Barrowman popped up to finish. Easy chance yes but that is the player he is - a penalty box striker. And we need to play in a manner that makes the most of his abilities as such a player. If we don't then there is no point in him being on the pitch as he isn't going to get the ball down, speed past one defender, turn another inside out and then rifle it home like say Dargo might have done.
