Long time to wait for a pie

backrowview

Recommended Posts

Did anyone else noticed how long the queues were for food on Saturday? Those on the west side of the ground were particularly long. The same thing happened on Wednesday with a low crowd. Is it the case that our new caterers are just too slow?

Is there a catering van at the east side of the north stand to help out, if you went into the bar before the game you could get a pie with no queues.

No van last saturday. I did as 12th man suggested and used the servery in the bar before kick off.

However, when this firm won the contract it was stated that they were experts in events catering and could get people served quickly. I just think they are dead slow stop myself. They seem to have plenty staff but no organisation.

Your dead right, their philosophy was double up on tills to speed things up all they need are fast staff. commission is the way forward.

I wouldnt even bother to go for anything after the halftime whistle now, if I was to go it would be during extra time and miss a bit of the game.

Had a pie and bovril on Saturday. Impressed that the bovril was a bit hotter than just being lukewarm. Things are looking up! In seriousness though, the club is losing out revenue wise here. This thread does come up every time a home game takes place.

I had a pie and coffee served in the new bar area at half-time. There was a considerable queue but the quality of my (Scotch) pie was superb.

If it is still the same people that are doing the catering they must have a new pie supplier.

Not so sure about that. I may be wrong but I've a feeling that the club agree a fee at the start of the contract and that any profit over and above that goes to Linley's. In other words, the club gets paid no matter how much is sold.

I normally go for my pie before the game or during the first half. I went to the south stall at the west side on saturday. One lass took the pie out of the oven, one poured the coke and a third took the cash. The forth stared into space. How I wish I was their supervisor.

Exactly as I see it Alex!

Its ok everyone saying dont use it/eat before the match but this does not excuse crap service to the fans. Its about time someone at the club took a look at this. I know folk from the club read the site so its not like they dont know what is going on. I know the prices will never reduce but surely the service is something that CAN be sorted.

All the North stand fans have to Que up for one servery since they have blocked us from the Main Stand, the servery at the west stand is not big enough for the volume of fans. It will be even worse when the colder weather comes in.

The catering van was at Cawdor for the x factor and Pondlife concerts.

That van was trying to rob me of ?2.20 for a bottle of coke after the sellic game. The boy in the van should have been wearing a mask. I shudder to think of the prices they were charging over the weekend for the punters stuck in a field. Still, I don't think they're as mercenary as aforementioned player.

Kind of reminds me of these guys who work for the Turriff company which specialises in creating traffic chaos throughout Inverness and especially up the Crown with their spectacularly slow replacement of gas mains.

Apart from the fact that they only seem to do a 40 hour week when they should be on the contract 24/7, on more than one occasion the only activity I spotted was the classic two blokes standing staring into a hole.

Maybe the two companies employ the same work study consultants.

The staff are just young lassies.

I wonder if they have been through a food handling course ? I saw one of the girls moving the hot pies by using the cuff of her jersey!

The service is poor, pricey and potentially a health risk!!

?3.60 for a pie and a tea!!

Stay away unless ICT provide a health guarantee.

Aye could not believe it when i seen them at that. I was standing there wondering how it could possibly be going so slow and this answered it.

I said a few weeks back i wouldn't be using the food kiosks again because of the cost and wait but the wee fella nagged me into it , but seriously never again.Missed a good 20 mins of the second half. Like someone said, just dont go there if you want to see the whole game.

i get that this is a big issue to some people and yes it does seem a bit steep, but :-

if people are that adamant then why not buy the pie before hand/take it in turns with person next to you ?

its not just pies at the stadium that are going up in price.. EVERYTHING is..it wasnt that long ago a bottle of juice used to be well under a quid, now look at it

as has been pointed out the staff are largely kids...looking to earn a wee bit extra cash, they get paid pretty much regardless providing they turn up and arent completely stupid/thieving.

the club agree a contract with the caterers who are then left to run it..not being a lawyer but im pretty certain that they will be doing things to the bare bones within that contract to maximise there profits.. it is very unlikely that you will get a company doing it for the love

Someone is making a killing. My 10 yr old grandson went to the kiosk to get a hot dog and a bar of chocolate, he had a ?20 note, change back - ?4.60 ! Now either the prices have gone up again OR someone looked at him and decided on a quick profit. The lad did nt like to say anything incase he got the usual "it wiz definately a tenner" son ! Service ? It's a joke, 3 lassies behind the counter IE Dead Slow, Stop and Still asleep ! Surely someone from the club, reads these forums, for a "family" orientated club, they must realise that it's "get a mortgage" time before contemplating a Family Day Out. We travel 120 miles each way, and are season ticket holders, myself and 4 grandkids.............. :redcard: SEND THEM AFF REF !!

Feckin ouch! thats not fair, you should have complained about that.

I'm not all that happy about standing in a queue in the rain and wind when the stand shop/toilets at the bridge end are near empty - wonder what clown thought this one up,

Just wait till the snow / sleet and january winds arrive.
