Barrowman joins County

In some respects I'm disappointed to see him go. You have to look at the facts here. At County in Division 2, he was played often with two other strikers alongside him and given the support he needed. He was also played as a poacher in a Kris Boyd, Filippo Inzagi kind of role. Over the course of a couple of months, Brew had him playing in a league that was two higher than he had been in, up front on his own, as a target man with long balls being punted at him at every given opportunity. The reason he "failed" here was because he was played the wrong way, with too much expectation put on his shoulders.

The fact is Andy Barrowman is Division 2 striker and nothing else. The reason he failed was because he was simply not good enough for that/this level. He'll make a great partner for Rory one day I'm sure.

Interesting to see a lot more people saying this kind of stuff now after he is gone. Why was no one else saying this whilst he was with us?

It was clear from the minute he joined us just what kind of striker he is / was yet he was never played in the right manner.

You should read Denis Law's autobiography, Renegade....

He was often told by various team managers exactly how they wanted him to play. He generally ignored each and everyone of them, and just did his own thing.

Are you suggesting Barrowman never fulfilled his capabilities at ICT because he tried to play according to the instructions he was given?

For the money he was on I'd have expected him to be able to take on the opposition single handed.

I agree and think the same methodology should be applied to Marius. He deserves nothing but riducle for his failure to help us make the latter stages of the Europa League!

And you know this how? He was always played the wrong way, and had he been played differently things may have been different.

sorry you should be in butchers and brewsters shoes as you seem to think you know how he plays and trys to score. maybe your barrowmans bumboy

Come on guys....even Rory McAllister managed more goals for ICT than Barrowman ever did and he is considered (by some) to be one of the most useless strikers we ever had on the books!!!

Players come and go, some perform here when they haven't elsewhere and vice versa, but signing Barrowman on the money we did was absolute madness and we're best rid. Would people have preferred we keep him on the books draining what little money we might have in the bank and possibly preventing other signings?

Here we are in third place and 1 point behind county. We have the top league scorer in our squad and what are we doing? Debating a former player. He's gone. He didn't fit into Butchers style. He had a habit of spitting the dummy. He's gone. End off.
