Callum McGregor

Seemingly, Hughes is after bringing Celtic's Callum McGregor here, who scored against Maribor last Thursday.  I seem to recollect him mentioning looking to bring someone in on loan and this is presumably one he was referring to.

Unfortunately the article is in the past tense Renegade, pity, he would have been a good addition to our squad.

 

Once again it shows the awareness of John Hughes and also his cannyness of not rushing in to get someone in just for the sake of it. No doubt he will find the right man for our Club in time.

True, but there is this line - 

 

"He scored a lot of goals down at Notts County last year and (is) one that I wouldn't mind bringing to this club.

 

Wonder if he's counting on Celtic looking to loan him out at some point to get him playing every week, as they did last season sending Jackson Irvine to Kilmarnock.

After Callum's induction into Europe and the strong possibility of playing again this coming week I very much doubt if he will become a loan candidate I think he is destined to be a first team squadee with the Tics.

My thoughts are that Yogi released that statement to show what calibre of player he wants and is looking for that potential.

Yes BM, I doubt that Celtic will be amenable to allowing him to go to a superior team than them in the Scottish Premier league.
