Why do footballers accept fines from their wages? It's a nonsense, if my employer tried to fine me money from my wages I'd sue them in court.

Dont know if its actually written into the contract but its a well known and accepted part of being a footballer that fines are a possibility. For our players its probably in the tens or hundreds of pounds. For others it can be in the tens of thousands. When Morais was found guilty of assault he was also fined around ?10k by Hibs. Riordan has experienced such on more than one occassion for getting into bother outside work. Go on the razz night before a game or training and you get fined. Lose your temper and you get fined etc etc. Its the way of football.
