I'm not one to moan.... but.....

I thought Shane Sutherland was wasted on the right wing.. more or less was a waste of space, he aint a right winger, not now, not ever.

Why was Eric not introduced? he could have really made saints pay with some nice passes/pace from the right, every time i've seen shane play on the right he's been poor - but it's not his fault, just poor decisions from management.

Given that Butcher has selection problems. Maybe he thought - like many fans on here - that Eric wasn't deserving of a start and bodged together a team which he thought could do the job??

Because Odi has about as much tackling ability and strength on the ball as a wet sponge....Sutherland offered more of a physical presence in a game that had the potential to become a bit of a clogfest.

No matter what the circumstances, I agree with the original poster. Sutherland is a central player and that alone.

Have to say didnt think Shane looked totally fit today but would have him over Odi anyday of the week. Shane is a young player who is still learning his trade but gives 100% every time.

I thought Shane did ok today and more than justified his selection. I agree his physical presence would be better deployed in a more central role, but given our depleted squad at the moment TB's options are somewhat limited.

I agree with you Richard but I keep waiting for Shane to get that elusive first goal of the season. Think it'll do wonders for his confidence. Eric has shown little in last few games, and as suggested earlier, perhaps Shane stands out in training, but he's not going to get a chance at CF unless there are injuries or suspension to Rooney or Foran.

Its funny how we all have such opposing views from watching the same game.

Against a very strong physical side he held his own, he was skinning a few players yesterday, he draws players in and creates spaces elsewhere, I'm glad hes on our side.

I'm not one to moan....:laugh::laugh:

Leave the loon alone, he did OK in the role he was asked to play.

Once he scores, there will be no stopping him.

Even after a win some folk just need a wee moan to set up their evening.

He offered the height and strength yesterday but that was it. Tbh i think it was the right call as i doubt Eric woulda done much better on the wing but he was knackered by about an hour in.

Eric's birth name is actually Gnomiambo and I think it's unfair to criticise his lack of fight when he's a fully paid up pacifist which means it's against his religion to play with any aggression whatsoever.

well i think shane did alright when i have seen him play he has struggled to beat his man but a couple of times he managed to take a good touch and getting behind them with one where he was chopped down and collum just waved play on
