LENNON LEARNS FROM INVERNESS EXPERIENCE

Neil Lennon is fast learning to put experience into practice as he introduced a new training exercise in to the Parkhead regime, evidently taken from the Inverness experience.

"Alan and I discussed this on the coach back from Inverness" mused Lennon. "It may have a touch of controversy about it. and undoubtedly some dogoody purists will have the usual whinges and moans but if it wins you games then it has to be applied."

"The lads have dubbed it the "Tansey Trap". It has been really well received".

Georgio Samaras took the lead in presenting and demonstrating the exercise to his team mates. "It is not the first time that I have actually carried out the move and it is popular with my fellow geeks. However I have to admit that Neil has developed a training method that is unique and will undoubtedly bring us more success".

The exercise - as illustrated below - involves refining the art of getting above an opponent, sheilding the view from the officials, developing the skill of being brushed in the head area and then feigning injury.

Alan Thompson added "It is also a very safe exercise as there is no actual player contact as is usually the case, although Georgio is currently receiving treatment for a plastic burn to his ear".

ICT boss Terry Butcher declined to comment!!

It is merely an adaptation on the old trick the Lennon melon, where when blocking the view of the officials, you make it look like someone turning away actually headbuts you so hard your legs go to jelly. Although tv highlights and photographs and the SFA deem this to be not what happens, Giorgios Samaras will still take out a book of his memoirs where he states he was elbowed in the eye
