Snow looks wet there.

Whistler here is gearing up for the Olympics.

There are now some 250 runs at Whistler and the sister hill, the long-run mountain, Blackcomb.

In my day there was a fraction of these runs. Pity they are in financial trouble but I heard yesterday from a pal that they are in the midst of a financial re-organisation. When you look at the figures involved , and if you can prevent your hair turning grey, maybe they could send their new financial plan to ICT as an example of how to take a financial chaotic mess and re-organise it to not only stay afloat, but to actually make money.

The cost of a day out on the mountain here now is about $70 for accessing the lifts but does not include the costs of travelling --an 80 mile journey from downtown Vancouver and back, nor food etc. And, if you want to rent equipment then that is extra of course. But it is a fantastic experience.

Whistler has opened a scenic cab ride on a line stretched between the two mopuntains and apparently it is a great view and a great ride. Whistler mountain has a variety everything and Blackcomb has always offered high speed cruising runs from top to bottom.

Watch it on T V come February. If you are a skiier and have a bit of money to burn, you would enjoy a visit. And the revamped 4 lane road from Vancouver to the Resort is very fast and has magnificent views across Howe Sound to the mountains beyond. Cost a King's ransom to finish this year but, heh, what are Government's for if not to spend a fortune and put it all on the taxpayer's shoulders. We will be paying for this VERY expensive ten days for years to come.

Have a great Winter.
