Many thanks guys. We did Arran on the second day of the tour. Would this image also be on Arran?

Could this one be on the A83 near Arrochar or Cairndow?

That’s a good old MG Magnette and a Citeron which was pretty rare back then.
I have no idea for the last one.

We did go North on the A83 from Kintyre but only as far as Invararay and taking a left along the A819.

It's one for the waterskiers as well. It's great when the water has a nice slope 😇

One of my common faults, too, which is why my default camera setting has a grid in the viewfinder.

Thank goodness there aren't airports close by 😉

No guys the simple explanation is the tide is going out  you are obviously not golfers in the highlands then

Never had that problem at Culcabock.  Until they straightened out the burn from the 6th green across to the 10th - and turned it into a raging torrent!

Castle Stuart? Spent 10 mins finding this then saw Snorbens' hint.

Bonus point - either you have a 1200mm lens or you're a Bottlenose Dolphin.

I'm cheap - I use GIMP.

I’m not against using these cheapie things but all my images are tied up in Adobe Lightroom’s catalogue and nobody else offers the chance to import it. To make it worse, you can’t own the software any more. Adobe rents it to you at a tenner a month…

Another church on a beautiful autumn day which I don't think I have posted before.

I was on an ancestry hunt to find where my grandparents and aunt are buried but there are no headstones.  As I had the dates of death the cemeteries office in Inverness gave me the lair numbers and directions on where to find them which were very good and a help was a map with the lair numbers and records of those with headstones in the church which was open.  Like many other churches this one is up for sale although I can't see anyone wanting to buy it and convert to a home as the graveyard is right round it!  Rather than leave flowers I planted daffodil bulbs at both lairs and will go back in the spring to hopefully see them flowering.

At least you had a decent map!

Earlier this year, I was scrambling round Camelon Cemetery in Falkirk, looking for some of my wife's family.  All we had a lair number, and a map which indicated which part of the cemetery it would be in.  Eventually we realised that one or two of the graves had the lair number on the side of the stone or of the plinth, and so by counting between two we were able to narrow the search down to a two or three lair gap with no stone.

A few years ago, my wife investigated my mother's family.  My maternal grandfather's family came from around Skye, Knoydart and Moidart, then moved eastwards and then up the Great Glen, including both sides of Loch Ness.  So my wife had us searching (unsuccessfully) round Boleskine Cemetery and (successfully) in Drumtemple Cemetery.

Now she's planning a trip to Donegal and the surrounding area, where some of her folk came from.

Making it too  easy for you

Well thanks 😎

Must admit I hadn’t a clue but now I know all about Dr Neil Ross and Laggan Church. A place I would belt past on the way to some Munro or other. Can’t find out whether they sold it…

It has a for sale sigh up at the gate but it is still open as a church the poppy collection tub was inside the door not many places you can do that now

The Highland Family History Society have recorded a good number of graveyards and I only found a grave of distant relations in Killearnan churchyard with the book as the headstone was a small book that was covered in moss and brambles.  I do like  going round graveyards!  My great grandfather James McGinty born in Donegal about 1847 and arrived in Islay with his mother and siblings before 1951 no sign of his father also James so I presume he died before 1951.  I have no idea where to start looking for Irish records if they exist.
