The 208 isn't much to look at, but it's right beside the ground and bound to be absolutely heaving with supporters from both sides before and after. I remember it being great crack after the final we won in 2003. Shame I'm working the following day this time.

As mentioned, the 208 is near the ground but will be heaving.

In 2003 quite a few of us went to the next nearest pub, but it closed down shortly afterwards and is now some sort of gospel centre.

I was about to say there are no other pubs within walking distance of the ground, then remembered that there's one of those modern pub/restaurant /hotel places just over the A9 (next to Dobbies) called the Glover Arms but I've never been inside so can't comment. Plenty of parking and about a 10 minute walk.

And Dobbies does a mean cheese scone.

Cheers Yngwie. I'm going to see if I can organise somewhere that'll put on a little buffet or some reasonably priced grub as well as providing a venue. Do you know of any clubs around the area who would appreciate the extra revenue. Bowling/Golf clubs for instance.

The place that springs to mind is the Tulloch Institute (01738 621541) which is a bowling/social club about 5 minutes walk from the ground. It's a very obvious choice which makes me wonder if the Dees have got in there already!

I remember going to the Saints? social club on the north road somewhere, near the car garages? cant see the dees going there, might be a chance.

Excellent Yngwie. Thank you. I have booked for 50 people, so would people please let me know if you would like to take a group, or indeed phone them directly on the above number. The Dees do already have 2 buses booked in, so there will be a limit on numbers. Should be excellent banter. Short walk to the ground and plenty parking.

That is the one. Its very much an eatery as opposed to a pub and is very busy on a sunday. Families out for carvery lunch. Not the place for footie fans.

Within 10 mins of the ground there's the aforementioned Tulloch Institute and the 208. 208 will likely be mobbed and service slow. There's the Letham Social club and the Welcome on Rannoch Road. Alternatively there's loads of pubs and eateries in the city centre and buses are very frequent. A No.1 or 2 will take you past the ground.

I have also heard rumour that one or both St Johnstone social clubs will have food available and buses too and from the ground.

Well both were open for the finalist last year.

Yes DC, both were open and both will be open this year. They're open every day but generally only have transport and food available when St J are at home.

Incidentally, a fair number of the bars around town now have over 21 policies and a requirement for I.D

In order to aquire an I.D you must first have an identity. You'd struggle with the 'place of birth' question. Raised from the ashes on the shores of Loch Shiel and coming into being before records were first kept in that region may be difficult to trace.
