Fair play to him for cancelling his contract, he could've carried on taking money off 'Well for another 9 months but it's obvioulsy easier for him to be signed by someone else if he has no current contract. I doubt many other would've done the same.

The size of the pay-off being offered usually persuades the player to have his contract cancelled.

Good luck to the guy..... I always felt he was a decent shot-stopper, but was guilty of the odd howler now and again, especially with regard to his positioning.

He might have benefitted from some good coaching.

Pulled of one of the great saves at Caledonian Stadium v Celtic but delivery and positioning often let him down.Good luck to him anyway.

I can see him falling down to the 1st or 2nd division.

Yes! There but for the grace of God go I.

And of course it can happen when you least expect it and for the trashiest of reasons.

Yep. Life gets tejious. :irritated:

I agree, he is good enough for the first so if anyone is interested thats where i expect him to be. He could well end up in the top end of the 2nd division though.

I rather think that Ike paniced back in Jan 2009 when ICT were in freefall and Brewster was on his last legs. A matter of days after he agreed to go to Motherwell, Brew was out the door and Butcher was in.

If Brew had got the heave-ho a week earlier things might have been different.

Having said that I think ICT have now got two excellent keepers.

He was a decent enough 'keeper but possibly not quite SPL standard. Should find himself a berth at a part time club without too much difficulty.

Still can't work out why Butcher prefered him over Esson in the final weeks of our relegation season and suspect if he hadn't we might have been spared that pain.
