IMHO that is exactly what fecked us today in unison with some tactical naievity from CC. Before I go any further I would wish to emphasise that there were lots of positives in todays performance BUT we threw away a point if not three by small minded defensive tactics.

As I mentioned on the actual game thread I really thought that Cellic were there for the taking but I feel we threw it away by: a) Duncan was having an impressive day - effectively stifling forward movement, some clever interceptions, playing the simple pass and covering supreme. Royster was in "invisible" mode. So taking on Black was offense minded but why take off Duncan and not Roy?? b) I could not believe that throw in to us with three minutes to go and Munro and Dods stood their ground. Shurely attacking is the best form of defence!! c) and then we played deep - on our feckin 18 yard box when we had held a high line all day and allowed them acres of room in midfield and d) after looking to pass and play to feet we resorted to the feckin hoof it as far as ya can mode and finally Nakamura - who Duncan had shackled all day is allowed to go to the left unnoticed  :006: :006:

Constructive criticism fer a Manager who is improving game to game but still annoys me with his small club philosphy.

Hindsight is 20 20. How can you possibly criticize the gaffer so harshly after we've just played the best team in the country off the park? You're such a dummy spitter. I'll bet if he hadn't taken Blackie on and we'd lost you'd be on here slagging Christie for NOT taking Blackie on. Try changing your username to Coco the clown.

We are cursed with that small club mentality.... hardly surprising when most of the football loving public in this part of the world support the OF..... I've never seen so many feckin green & white scarfs around the town centre as I have tonight., singing their Irish sectarian bile.... none of them look to be heading for weegieland. I thought this was a protestant country.

Only when we start to beat the OF on a regular basis will things change.... Aberdeen succeeded in doing it in the eighties.... A few decent breaks and we could achieve some of what they did....

We were by far the better team today.... despite a Celtic bench that looked like a who's who of the best in Scottish football... :024:

In my opinon we lost the game today because Duncan went off.  Celtic were there for the taking and we blew it, we effectively beat ourselves!

Regards tactics....  No one had budgeted for Denzil getting injured inside 60 seconds.... or an un-characteristic wally of a clearence from McBain, or Dods having an off-day....  It finished up being a stinker of a result for us, but it is not that long ago they would all have been hailed heroes after a game/result like that.....

Individual performances win or loose matches, as much as right or wrong tactics.... I didn't agree with Duncan going off either, but as somebody else said you would have been critical if Black hadn't come on....

ICT performance today was excellent and were very unlucky not to at least get a draw.

The attitude and work rate of the management team and the players cannot be faulted! ICT competes well with all SPL teams.

It is money that buys and sustains high quality players. We have less than most but we are there and competing hard.
