ROSS COUNTY - Welcome and Warning

Recommended Posts

I am reliably informed that Glasgow City Council are planning to temporarily re - open a site in Rodney Street, Maryhill in order to make the Tinks feel at home.

:004:

But they have also issued a warning and guidelines to the travelling Tink hordes: :020: :018:

CODE FOR GYPSY TRAVELLERS IN GLASGOW

Glasgow City Council accepts that Gypsy Travellers may choose to adopt a nomadic lifestyle. However, the Council believes that the adoption of this lifestyle does not exempt Gypsy Travellers from the general principles of being a good neighbour as described in the Council?s Good Neighbour Charter. The Council will liaise with Gypsy Travellers to encourage adherence to these principles.

If difficulties remain unresolved an unauthorised encampment may be evicted if it:

- creates a hazard to road safety

- creates a nuisance to the general public by nature of its location, nature or duration, e.g. by staying too long

- creates a hindrance to the development of Council owned or privately owned land

- creates an intolerable impact on the enjoyment, use or habitation of adjoining nearby property

- causes damage to land or property

- causes pollution to the environment or potential harm to human health, e.g. by excessive fouling or dumping.
