I think thats why he said, " Since we're back in the SPL " i.e...........more money.........=D And in that case, why do we have two match day physio's?

2 physios? One for each leg Obviously!

The club needs to cut it's cloth to suit and has been doing so for a while now. Shearer and Christie have been youth coaches this season and I'd expect them to take on the under 19s too. It would be nice if Barry could be taken on but sentiment isn't how to run a business. Look at Brewster at DUFC, Jocky Scott at Dees, etc., etc., ...

Since we're back in the SPL now hopefully the club might take him on as the under-19 coach

That would be particularly unfair on Scott Kellacher and Ronnie Duncan who both do a first class job. Can't sack guys just because Baz got his P45!!

I would say Scott does a good job definitely. So that would leave a job for Barry.

Scott Kerracher and John Docherty to take the under 19s I would think

From what I gather Scott is the U-19 coach and Doc is the first team coach.

Sharing the duties. Think Doc will be overseeing Scotty, and providing a wise ear to offer advice

Dont think we have two physio's on matchdays. normally one + a doctor.

Is there any point for the club having two doctors and two physio's?

Like having two goalkeepers etc it is essential for cover purposes.

Yes, a great deal of point although I'm not entriely sure if there is a second physio now. The functions of a doctor and a physio are very different and they complement each other. A physio is a specialist in the direct treatment and management of injury which is not really a significant part of a doctor's training at all. A doctor, on the other hand, is needed to cope with medical matters which might range from concussion to stitching and which, correspondingly, are not within the remit of a physio. Therefore both are required.

The treatment of medical and injury issues in football has moved on a long way from the days when a wee man, often propelled by tiny, lightning quick steps, would dash on with a huge black bag, produce a can of freeze spray, and say "you'll be OK now son." Such people often called themselves "physios" but in reality often really weren't and "physiotherapist" is now a term protected by law.

As far as I am aware, Caley Thistle's highly qualified personnel are Fiona Hogg who is the physio and Ian Smith and Deryck MacLeod who are the club doctors. There used to be a time when Ian and Deryck would alternate between team duties and being available for any emergency in the crowd but I'm not sure if that still applies.

Rumour has it that IHE is also used in a professional capacity in the North Stand.
