Alternative Maryhill has completed the preview come history lesson, free pub guide and cultural observations with a hint of economics in Ayrshire thrown in..........

Oh, nearly forgot, there is some football talk thrown in as well.

Thanks Andrew, this is breathtaking.

Great preview, AM....

I totally concur with this comment on the Russell Duncan....

Quote :

By all accounts, the first half witnessed an ICT side completely unable to impose itself on the game, and many observers felt that the absence of Duncan was a key factor in this. The restoration of Duncan to the side for Saturday?s game would be a very popular move in the eyes of most supporters.

It is fitting that a preview such as this one coincides with the introduction of an article rating system ....

someone mentioned a couple of weeks back how it might be nice to be able to give the equivalent of green dots to our previews and reports and it was a relatively easy ask. The rating system is now in effect for stories and the comments you can add to them ......

Excellent stuff Mary - ya forgot that I first premiered ma tattoo at a 1-1 game some frckin time in the past - Mann4thejob is the most likely to remember the original Fanny by Gaslight and I wish that somebody could throw up ma Smileymometer report of that 4-1 debacle as I truly though that it would promptly result in the demise of the Gay One - but the Muppets showed their true colours and took 8 feckin months to cotton on.

Feck me the Mental Health of Lancashire has been a full time task at the mo but I am getting some respite and am now haeding to the Govan Hilton on Saturday and have booked up fer the Huns and Hammies - CaleyAwaywithTerryand Mo.

See ya on the train Mary ??

See you in the bar at Central beforehand too, hopefully, and Brechins the following week.

Cheers for the positive feedback, guys.

Superb read. Really enjoyed it. Can't make this one but am looking forward to my first ever visit to castle greyskull next week. Are you doing a preview for it AM?

Marvellous preview, thank you.

It's impossible to watch that YouTube clip of 'Jimmy Says Aye...' without smiling broadly from start to finish. Just brilliant!

(Such a shame the Dudes won't be at Rugby Park on Saturday... one to participate in the frivolities and one to capture it all on film  )

Eh............hold on just a minute. No mention of the River Irvine, the 44,734 souls, BMK carpets or even the admirably named Dick Institute. Sketchy at best young man. Maybe less time watching football in your study hours.. eh what!!

Damn. If only I'd spoken to you before I wrote it. What a missed opportunity: the Dick Institute and Fanny by Gaslight in the same sentence...

Another brilliant read, Maryhill. Thank you.

Well done Mary. Made me feel as if I was there instead of on the Minch..... no, I said MINCH. Come to think of it, it WAS just like being there so you saved me 20 quid. On the other hand it sounds like I missed a rare opportunity to be bought a pie by Mr Ex-Aberdonian.
