ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/

It's well documented that Acl injuries have a effect on footballers mental health and the journey to recovery so for a club that promotes mens mental health charities to treat the players this way is not acceptable...shame on the board

'Interviewed by the Sporting Director' wtf is he still doing around. Wage cuts, players released ,but we still have a Sporting Director.

Honestly, time  to look at who's contributing off the park, and who is living off past reputations.

Embarrassing and incredibly tin-pot for a club who can't communicate with fans on engage on any matters (and certainly not timely updates online) but can retaliate with towards a twitter post from a player immediately.

At least they’ve cleared it up and what’s been spouted has been misinterpreted.

The only thing I can think of is they’ve emailed him to say we are arranging a meeting to discuss your future but have possibly mentioned the fact that he won’t be needed in that email.

Seems from this like he may have declined the offer of a face-to-face...so as per procedure perhaps the club informed him by email instead.

No-one comes out of this looking good. Shane perhaps didn't realise this was the procedure, which may or may not be a communication failure on the club's part. Regardless, its not very classy of him to criticize the club - or the medical team - on social media, especially if he has (intentionally or otherwise) misconstrued things.

Likewise, the club needs to do better. That statement reads like a stream of consciousness that really hasn't been double-checked or thought about. The response could and should have been more diplomatic and more professional-sounding; all it is missing is the word 'concomitant'. Perhaps someone should have reached out to Shane first, talked him through things and suggested he clarify things on social media first (maybe they did, of course).

The club also needs to recognise that its past record regarding communication with players (remember Josh Meekings' release?) and fans leaves a lot to be desired. Until they actually try to restore trust, we won't trust them when we hear accusations like this.

That’s a helluva strong statement from the club, clearly very peed off about misrepresentation of the facts and by the willingness of fans and other media to latch on to it and assume it to be all true just because a bitter ex-player tweeted it.

An unsightly war of words that doesn’t look good on anyone involved, but perhaps the only way the club could have prevented it would have been to keep paying Shane to sit in the treatment room for another year?

Doran signed on for another year.

Not sure how I feel about that actually. Pleased for him, great servant and all that, still has skill and vision, but with his age and lack of pace he can only ever be a bit part player with an ever diminishing contribution.

Fans might be a bit more sympathetic to the club if it had done anything but erode trust between the two groups over the last few years.

Latest club statement. I guess anyone out of contract and not on this list is not getting an offer?

The club confirm that new contracts have been offered to the following players;

Billy Mckay (Billy’s existing contract included an additional year option in the player’s favour and this option was triggered a number of weeks ago by his appearances this season)

Scott Allardice

Danny Devine

Austin Samuels

Ethan Cairns

Robbie Thompson

Harry Hennem

which would be the following players?

Tom Walsh

Do people need reminded of concertgate?

Given the propensity of the current club guardians to screw people over and then spin the legalities to make it look like they're the injured party, it's maybe a bit quick to be coming down on their side in this matter 🤷‍♂️

What do you make of the incident with Sutherland from what’s been said?

More of the same!!!

Sporting director Robertson - what a pathetic figure and role (chief new stand consultant and player email contract advisor). You couldn’t make it up the way this board and CEO just stumble from one calamity to another.

Tipping point - just nailed my decision to skip a ST renewal!

The clubs statement reeks of talking around the issue.  Lots of this is the procedure, we know how it should be done etc, but very little about what they actually did.

Legally, they may feel like they've ticked all the boxes, but once again they are found wanting morally and it's another massive blow to ICTFCs reputation.

Funny how club are so quick to respond when they want to . One certainly likes to be heard when he wants to .

An unseemly end to Shane’s time with us regardless of the rights and wrongs. The process the club has outlined is the correct one and if the followed it then it may be that Shane misunderstood the initial e-mail. It sounds like it is a standard template issued by the governing body and, if so, it ought not to be deviated from.

I suspect we will never know what happened but it adds to the general concerns many have.

Reading the list of those offered deals, I’m confused at the Billy Mckay situation as it sounds like he can stay if he wishes to exercise the option in his contract. Do other posts above indicate that the club is trying to change those terms in some way? I hope not.

I hope those also being offered deals accept them and that we do have Shaw tied up for next season.

Im surprised if we are letting Cammy MacKay go though.

Me too, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Cammy wanted to move on, it must be very frustrating being a back-up keeper for years on end and hardly ever getting a game. There are some at big clubs who do it for years and put up with it because they are getting paid a fortune but I suspect Cammy is on peanuts.
