Assuming a third of our fans likely to attend the final want to travel by bus we are going to need in the region of 3,000 seats or at least 60 coaches.

Are there that number of buses available for hire in the inner Moray Firth area ?

A logistical challenge for those coordinating the exodus.

I was also wondering that, and if there enough buses in Aberdeen to meet their demand or do they have to draw them in from further west, eventually competing with us?

Another consideration is that there will probably be some Aberdeen supporters buses leaving from Inverness!

In the old days British Rail would have put on a couple of football specials but, sadly, with the disjointed rail system these days, that's unlikely to be an option.

Would a direct train between Inverness and Bridgeton (if it's Celtic Park) or somewhere be an option?  Don't know how do-able that would be mind.

Would a direct train between Inverness and Ibrox be possible?  Don't know if a regular choo choo would be able to use the subway tracks though, or fit through the tunnels!

They ran a football special for County in the cup final and also the Caley v Celtic game in 2000, so I would imagine they might this time. Will only get it through to Queen Street though

Like their open-topped bus? Mint condition, zero miles on the clock......

Good, if slightly surprising news. Pity the final isn't at Hampden where the trains could run right through to Mount Florida.

Hopefully they keep ICTChris off these trains.

Why? Is he known to the BTP as well!!!

It would be great if there was a football special going to the final, going back many years football specials were common and were my favourite mode of transport and it added to a great day out

Sadly these days though they would probably be dry trains due to the minority of bams who spoil it for everyone
