Unless some of their players are tired after Saturday and they watered the pitch to get an extra days rest!

Whilst our players will have one day's less rest before taking on Dunfermline.

Send in the OPWC inspectors to look for fluoride in the water

Is there another aquifer there?

Quite sure they have one of those artificial pitches which basically means next to no drainage

Nope, grass.

They have just issued a rallying call:  "We need volunteers tonight at the @Dumbartonfc Stadium to help fork the playing surface and clear the standing water to help the chances of the re-arranged fixture, planned for tomorrow going ahead. Time - 6pm - bring a garden fork and/or a soft brush."

So if anyone is in the area...

Appreciate that there isn't a more suitable alternative date available , but one days notice and one days less rest for the biggest two games of our season thus far is a bit farcical.

Potentially drastic, but if we need to get the game played the fixture should be reversed.....

Bu@@er, can't make it tomorrow. Also one of the 3 or 4 SPFL grounds I haven't managed to see ICT so they'd better win their playoff

So you don’t think we’re winning the play offs, Mantis? ?

Ok agreed it's not the best scenario but it's not any worse than playing on a Saturday with a game on Tuesday - it's still a 2 day gap between matches. With putting the 'one game at a time' hat on, it's good to have the extra rest day before travelling to Dumbarton as that is our next must-win game and we don't have to travel down the road to Dunfermline.

With Dumbarton already calling for volunteers for the pitch I wonder if the game might be called off again tomorrow.

I've just checked the forecast for Dumbarton over the next 24 hours, there's a fair chance of heavy showers this evening and again around midday tomorrow so they may very well be fighting a losing battle. If that's the case we could be looking at going for Tuesday 1st May - now that actually sounds quite tasty if we can take out Dunfermline on Saturday!

Bit harsh to ask us and Dumbarton to play two games in one day.

Sounds like Dumbarton (and perhaps ICT) could do with a 'water hog' the type of thing they use at major cricket grounds to remove surface water off the outfield

Do all games not have to be played in advance of the final game of the season - so we may have to play Tue & Thurs next wk? Was that not the case for one of the teams in the last few seasons - possibly DUtd?
