No one is convincing me we've not just signed @RossP to play in goals.

Another Goalie signed. Press Release from club below:

"Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Ross Munro on a 1-year deal. Ross, 25 years-old, is from Nairn and came through the academy at Ross County. Prior to joining Ross County’s academy, Ross was involved in the ICT Academy at Under 11s as a midfielder!

In 2018, Ross signed his first professional contract at Ross County and made his debut in August that year against Hearts Colts in the Scottish Challenge Cup. He played in each round of the Challenge Cup that season, including the final at the Caledonian Stadium against Connah’s Quey which County won 3-1.
While at Ross County, Ross had loan spells with Brora Rangers, Raith Rovers, Cowdenbeath and Annan Athletic.

Ross then joined Dundalk in January 2024, he made 20 appearances in total, keeping 5 clean sheets for the League of Ireland First Division side. Earlier this year, Ross joined Scottish Championship winners Falkirk on a short term deal until the end of 2024/25.

Upon signing, Ross Munro said: “I’m absolutely buzzing, when I found out the club were interested I was over the moon. It’s a big club with ambitions and there’s a real buzz about the place. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”

Head Coach Scott Kellacher said: “Ross has got good experience, he’s come through at Ross County, played as first choice at Dundalk and was with Falkirk last season. He’s a good shot stopper and very good with the ball at his feet.”

Welcome to ICTFC, Ross!

What are we thinking, will he be back-up keeper to someone more experienced or are we hoping he can quickly step up to league football like Musa did and be first choice?

Looks like we have an answer then. Ross will be first choice, while Ross will be on the bench but ready to step up whenever needed.

We need experience and Chalmers will still want to prove something. Sounds like  quite a good signing.

We await news on Savage. He is very important to us.

Another cryptic social media post about continuing tomorrow, hope it means Savage is staying and continuing (probably too obvious that)

And they’ve been using Friends themed posts to trail the signings this week, for Ross and Joe(y). So who’s next? Well, there’s a Chandler who plays right back for Eintracht Frankfurt!

Right back Ross Millen has signed today.

Not disappointed with the signings so far but that's a lot of 1 year contracts and with existing players also with a year left there's going to be an even bigger rebuild required next season.

Maybe necessary if we get promoted anyway but back to where we are now if we don't.

Fear that's the nature of the beast outside of the top-flight, particularly in the Championship and with full time teams in League One, you can't risk long term contracts as it's so easy to get pulled into a relegation fight and suddenly you've got high wages for the next 3 years with reduced revenue. I've seen people argue that clubs should follow Celtics model, get in young hungry players and then sell on for profit, but again doesn't work with our smaller league structure where 6 out 10 teams are involved in either relegation or promotion, you need players to come in and be a success so you end up looking for experienced players on short term deals to ensure safety or the playoff push etc. if the leagues were expanded and there was more scope for mid table safety then I think clubs would push the boat out more for young players

I see a few of the contracts are for an 'initial" 1 year.  Wonder if these have an option for another year by the club?

This is all going to get confusing ... and I see we also signed a right back while everyone was looking at the Remi Savage signing 🙂

Keeping Savage would be a big deal, ditto Allan...just feel they showed so much for us that someone will surely snap them up. Chalmers would work for us in this league, and when I saw Nolan released I had the same thought as you, he started off quite brightly for us, but tailed off a bit, but another season under Scott K and he could develop quite nicely. Replacing the lively Bray, the goals of Bavidge, and Dibiga in goal along with Savage/Allan are all big asks aren't they?

Blimey...not a bad result, goalkeeping situation sorted, an experienced right back, Chalmers in too, arguably a decent backline and midfield, esp with Longstaff and McKay in the wide or deep No10 positions. Obviously at the moment we need some cover [the youngsters to step up] but now two in up front please [Bavidge back on loan? And a traditional big guy to hold the ball up?] Can't wait for the fixture release now

It’d make sense to get Rebilas out on loan if there is a team who would give him game time.
