I think Sky Sports have the rights to screen live a replay from the last 16 could be US if they so choose? Nice little bonus considering the crowd will be lucky to hit four figures!

They have the right to show a replay but are not contractually obliged to. If we end up being the only replay we may well get that financial windfall but there's no guarantee.

On 18th Sky are showing Bayer Leverkusen v PSG in Champion league. The game will also be up against Man City v Barcelona on ITV.  Can't really see Sky paying £80000ish(allegedly) for ICT v Stranraer when up against those games.

If it's what the TV paymasters want we will have no choice. Two games in three days it would be but I'm inclined to think that the game won't be attractive to SKY who are likely to give it a miss.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe no channel is allowed to show live football if its a Champions League night, unless they are showing live Champions League football?

£83,000 is the figure SKY have been paying each team featuring in live broadcasts of Scottish Cup ties for years, useful income for a club of our size and a great windfall for the likes of Stranraer.

However, to put it in perspective, it is less than the lowest finishing English Premiership club get from broadcasting rights every single day of the year.

Taken from the Stranraer FC Forum today:

"All clubs involved were asked pre matches if they would be prepared to move to a Monday for TV, ICT and Stranraer were two clubs who had said yes and hopefully we will find out today/tommorow if they want the game."

I'd love for this to be the case:

1. So I'd get to see the game

2. With our players being full time, you'd imagine the recovery time between games (and comparison of travel for the teams) will have a positive factor in our favour.

3. Extra ££ for the club.

Wholeheartedly agree with all that.

Hard to see how it could be worthwhile for Sky though, paying out £186,000 to the clubs plus all the costs of putting on a live outside broadcast, for a game that is only really of interest to a few thousand non-attending fans of the sides involced.

Still, Sky have a Monday night slot to fill and let's hope they don't have any better options.

Fair enough. Was never going to be a hugely attractive prospect for SKY.

Credit to both clubs for agreeing very reasonable prices. £10 for adults, £5 concessions and under 12s free.

No reason for anyone in or around Inverness to sit at home that evening.

I seem to recollect that the last time we played Stranraer at home (2009 in the League Cup or possibly the Challenge Cup), to save money due to the likelihood of a small crowd and an almost non-existent away support, the club put everyone in the Main Stand.  Is there a chance they'll be doing that again?
