They are off to a good start. Here’s hoping they manage to win.

Was thinking the same today, good luck 🤞. I have a soft spot for Crystal Palace always keep a look out for the scores, as its my family's local team (from Thornton Heath) before they moved up to Inverness in the 70s

Not just Scotland that has dodgy VAR decisions! Insufficient evidence that the keeper handled the ball outside the box so no red card. IMG_0554.jpeg

No - they've said that it's because it wasn't a clearcut goalscoring opportunity.  Haaland was heading slightly wide of the goals.

But they didn't even give a free kick!

I didn't think the penalty was correct either.  Silva possibly wouldn't have reached the ball, or have been able to do anything with it.

Palace's goal was fantastic!

I would suggest that the keeper resorted to desperate measures because it WAS a clear goalscoring opportunity into an open goal.

Eagle4Caley will be even happier now.

Scrap that, goal disallowed.

Delighted for you too, Eagle4Caley.

I too have a soft spot for Crystal Palace, having lived for part of my misspent youth in a flatshare in Bensham Manor Road in Thornton Heath. I remember that Sainsburys had to give up the shared carpark for a day each fortnight when a home game was on.

Absolutely!  And if he thought the ball was within his area, he would have clutched it with both hands.  It is hard to imagine a much clearer goal scoring opportunity than Haaland would have had.  Perhaps VAR were confusing Haaland with Hojlund, in which case they might have been justified in thinking there was little chance of him scoring.

Glad that Palace won though.  Love to watch Eze play.

Oh Gosh, thanks you guys for your lovely comments

What an EPIC day, what an EPIC season for a Palace/Caley supporting lad

As a Palace supporter I thought I might never see this day, I was strangely calm for most of the game, because Palaces defence was excellent, and on our breaks City always looked vulnerable. Well done Olly Glasner

A few drinks into the evening joined by other Palace supporting family

Palace in Europe!

As for the Henderson VAR moment...as Josh Meekings would say "it was nae a handball"

Memories are made of this. Enjoy every minute of it, we certainly did.

Great day for the Eagles, stuck to their game plan. Henderson was outstanding.

Looks like you wont run out of liquid refreshment to celebrate Eagle4Caley - are you in a distillery in the pic?

Ha Yes...in Walthamstow, where my daughter Emma lives (seem to be a lot of micro-breweries in that area1) it was a great atmosphere, the match was on a big screen

Congrats to Palace.

The handball is academic, but the angle only shows the ball in line with the hand, not any contact....and, Josh never ever denied it was a handball, not even when we went to appeal 😂

Palace deserved their win in my opinion. Physically they out muscled City pretty much across the park. Stuck to their game plan and broke at speed. Well crafted and executed goal.

Carried a bit of luck when it was needed.
If nothing else it proves how the ‘little’ guy can win over a (much richer) opponent. Cause for celebration for me.
Nice also to see a team from the unfashionable part of town get a little limelight!

I don't suppose you can arrange for Eze to come on loan to us could you?

Ha!     Maybe Rak Sakyi [currently on loan at Sheffield United]   Or Franca [needs game time]

Munoz on the other hand...coz we need to replace Brannan

Meanwhile how about this display at Wembley...make the hairs tingle

Well done to Palace. I was cheering them on yesterday. Like others on here, i have a bit of a soft spot for Palace. Proper footie team they are, with proper ground and fans. I enjoy watching them.
Reason why i like em is, my BELOVED and much missed Caley (the REAL Caley) used to have a change strip in the mid to late 70s which was similar to Crystal Palace's top.

My favourite day in Norwich is whenever Palace come to play at Carrow Road. I don my old red n blue striped top and get some right confused looks - even from the Palace fans 😁
