Whats with all the Moderators?

As the thread got moved just a few minutes after it was created and very few people had seen it, I exercised judgement and did not leave a linky thing on the previous board (which was the Non-ICT board, for discussion of footballing matter relating to other clubs)

ok - the serious answer .......

Its been a tough time recently - as most regular posters know - and myself and Donald decided that we would like to try and broaden the moderating team so that we could become less involved in moderating and more involved in developing the site's look, features and progress.

We decided to introduce a three-tier system:

Board Moderators - the 3 or 4 names listed against each board when you go here http://www.caleythistleonline.com/community/index.php - Maimie, TM4TJ, YngWie, Alex Macleod, Andrew Fraser, Guzz, Kingsmills, Clacher Holiday2

Site Moderators - our existing mods - LG, DJS, RiG, Fly

Senior Mods - Gringo / Mantis

The board moderators will look after their own boards based on a new simplified "terms of service" document we are introducing. They will do this with the help of the site mods (who look after all boards) and refer to the senior mods or ultimately to Admin if something needs it. They can also moderate other boards as required. The only board they cannot moderate (and neither can Admin) is Gringo's NPL where only he has the relevant system permissions.

We deliberately tried to pick people who may not always agree with each other (or us) but who we feel have displayed common sense over a long time of posting. Hopefully the increase in the team will mean the moderating is actually more transparent and fair and we will require less and less of it .......... time will tell !

In amongst all the crap that filled our Inboxes a couple of weeks ago, people did have genuine concerns and suggestions.  We have been listening and we are taking action to improve things for everyone.  A proper communication expanding on what Scotty has said above and detailing all the site moderation revisions etc will be posted in the forums tomorrow.
