Mair is an absolute disgrace for feigning a headbutt from Duncan in a delberate and blatant attempt to get a fellow professional sent off.

As usual the stand side linseman was shocking and misread the situation completely.

Made all the worse by the fact that it means this is now the last time we will see Duncan in an ICT shirt (unless Butcher appeals the sending off,

but frankly i don't believe he will)

Personally i think that, if it comes down to the wire, we should throw the Hamilton game to get these cheats relegated.

YAAA BEAUTEEEEE. Inverness cannot be beaten by more than 46 points ???????????????????????????????????  Hamilton here we come

If this is the betfair handicap bet, Rangers+2 (max 95), Hearts+27 (max 96), and Kilmarnock+41 (max 95) can still Beat ICT+46 (min 93).

No, its just a straight forward 46 points or less behind winners of the league on Bet365 put on in July last year.

Ground out a result against an incredibly negative St Mirren side - even when a goal down against ten men, they still lacked urgency and refused to have a go at us.

Defensively I thought we were excellent today - Gillet was superb, and our centre-backs blanked Higdon out of it. Surely TB must be reconsidering his decision about Munro. As for further up the pitch, Foran worked hard, but we only came to life when Rooney came on. One goal and three efforts off the woodwork - not bad for 30 mins work!

Shame for Russell, but he's a seasoned pro who should know better than to get into these situations.

Same here - I had 9/1 on ICT to win the league +48 pts - nice little earner - thank you Mr Rooney....

Bit of a bizarre game really, going from team perfection against Cellic during the week to what was more like a friendly match where we gave the ball away too cheaply and the attacking force reminded me of Craig Leveins inept 4-6-0 formation. we just didnt have any bite up front, fortunately Midden didnt show much threat, enter Rooney and all of a sudden the team has direction.

If the ref was better Duncan should have won a penalty before anything happened,I didnt see what happened as my eyes were following the ball but I'm surprised the linesman picked it up seeing as he kept waiting to see who the ref would award the throw in to before waving his flag during the game.

After a few substitutions even with 10 men, we were by far the better team with a 4-4-1 formation, the win was deserved and I'm glad we did it for Duncan.

They're both better value than my bet then, and I won't collect until Wednesday at earliest.

Forgettable first half, decent second half electified by the introduction of our very own Adam Rooney.

His first strike was a bicycle kick which would have been goal of the season, the next two were unluckily thumping, the gvoal was a beauty.

Great result, the performance was enough.

By no means a classic. When are ICT going to learn that the long ball simply doesn't work? Duff was the main perpetrator of this, who incidentally I thought lived up to surname today as he was rather abysmal. How Butcher's offering him a new deal I'll never know. I also thought Eric was once again terrible so I won't be sad to see him go. ICT seemed to take a step up when Rooney came and it seemed to add a bit more bite, something that was lacking when MacDonald was playing. Good to see Munro get MOTM, hopefully Butcher changes his mind about that one, and I also thought that Kenny Gillet once again produced an admirable performance.

As bad a match as I've seen all season. Both teams were dire in the first half, and I struggled to stay awake after a late one last night!

The game only really livened up when Rooney came on. Thought he was never going to score after hitting the bar twice, and the post. But fair play to him, he got his goal...and how well he took it.

Duncan's sending off was a terrible decision, and such a shame for him to end his ICT career that way. At least he got the standing ovation he deserved as he trudged off the field. I had a really good view of the incident. Mair grabbed Russell first, and Duncan turned round and pushed him in the chest. There wasn't even any force in it. So how Mair then dropped holding his face is disgraceful. I really hope Hamilton catch them, for that one incident alone. Highlight of the day for me was Esson going for a jog behing the St. Mirren goal, after the sending off, and obviously telling Gallacher what he thought of it :clapping:

Crap game, but 7th place secured. Would've taken that at the start of the season...but I can't help thinking how much better the season could've been.

Despite dominating possession we created very little in the first half. Eric confirmed the reason for him not being offered a new contract although no doubt Dodds would have argued that his silky skills were sabotaged by a dry and bumpy pitch. Morrison worked hard but lacked any creativity with his passing and to be honest, Duncan was similiarly lacking inspiration and his poor perfomance no doubt contributed to his frustration and his reaction which got him sent off - very sad end to a great career with ICT. MacDonald was poor leaving just a few flashes from Foran to show any quality in front of the back four.

But what a difference Rooney made. He was truly awesome when he came on. 3 terrific efforts hitting the woodwork and a well taken goal. But he also contributed a lot more to making us a more potent attacking force in the second half when, ironically, we actually had considerably less possession than in the first half. If he is holding out for more money the club should pay up. The lad is top quality.

Munro and Gillet were excelent and Tokely solid too. Great to see Tuffey get a game and he was very solid without being seriously tested. He kicks it a long way - with Ronney running onto the long ball that could be a useful tactic.

Maybe not the best team performance but we have secured 7th with 2 games still to play. That is a fantastic achievement so a time for celebration. Well done ICT - it's been a great season. :ictscarf: :ictscarf:

i think people are being a bit to critical of McDonald the long ball didnt help him as the more physical and taller defenders had the long ball in there pockets and mcdonald had no chance i think it stopped him making any impact in the game. As for russell i didnt see it as i was to bust shouting for a pen and then listening to the radio at the same time thought he had given a pen after consulting the linesman but then came the red. The first half was woeful typical end of season nothing to play for performance but when adam came on who has suddenly started playing well again was so unlucky with a tremendous overhead coming off the bar and then hitting the post twice it didnt look our day but a very composed finish for the winner and fully deserved. Johnny Tuffey made one great save in the second but that is all i can think of st mirren being a threat

You want Hamilton to stay up for the sake of sportsmanship and fair play? Really? :tongueincheek:

At least we get to relegate Hamilton on the last day of the season now

We may have a say in relegating either team depending on what happens on Tuesday but there shouldnt really be any conspiracy theory's.

If Hamilton take anything from us on the last day of the season the its St Mirren who relegated themselves because they had enough of a lead and have thrown it away.

That is an interesting and somewhat beautifully ironic debate .... should we ourselves 'cheat' by fielding a lesser team or putting in less effort so that we can punish St Mirren for the 'cheating' of one of their players on Saturday .........

I say NO. Hamilton and St Mirren are in the position they are because over the course of the season - like us two seasons ago - they have not performed well enough over their last 36 games. If the midweek games mean that there is anything left to play for on Saturday then it is for St Mirren and Hamilton to take it to their opposition and fight for their own survival. For ICT to aim for anything less than a win is disrespectful to Hamilton, to St Mirren, to themselves, and to all the fans who will travel to the game, including the Highland Marchers who will be putting in a supreme effort to get to Saturday's game.

While I don't agree with what Mair did in the slightest, what goes around comes around as they say. Although he didn't get sent off, Duncan feigned a headbut/punch in the face against (can't remember what player) a Falkirk player in the cup quater final the season we got relegated in going down as if shot by a sniper an attempt to get the opposition player sent off.

Anyway lets hope he plays on Saturday!
