after the Liverpool Cardiff cup final, it got me thinking.

Who is the ex player who has played in the biggest club game, of meaning, after they departed TCS.

Don Cowie played really well yesterday, and indeed scored a shoot out penalty when under loads of pressure. Anyone else been in such a big game! Robson in Champions league at Celtic? But they were group games rather then finals. Anyone made the Premiership yet?

One who is easily forgotten is Allan Smart, who we sold for £15,000. Scored at Wembley for Watford in the play-off final in 1999 to help take them to the Premiership. The following season he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 against Chelsea.

A man of many clubs, he was a youngster at St Johnstone and Brechin before playing for Caledonian, ICT, Preston, Carlisle, Northampton, Watford, Hibs, Stoke, Oldham, Dundee Utd, Crewe, MK Dons, Bury, Portadown, Burscough and then Southport.

If you include the old guard then it must be Kevin Mac with his old 1st div medal (pre EPL) and the 1986 FA cup final victory where he was part of the starting 11 in the days when there was only one sub.

Of the new guard Cowie (League Cup Final) and Robson (SPL and SLC medals) are obviously the stand outs but who knows how Rooney may develop or how Cox will turn out on his return down south.

The other who has had a good career and amassed quite a few medals is Barry Wilson with also his millennium goal feat.

Also makes me think which ICT player (past or present) has collected the most medals at senior level?

Who did Shearer make an FA cup final with? I know he reached a play-off final with Swindon. He won a league cup winners medal and a Scottish cup runners-up with Aberdeen.

Played in the Dons team that were beaten 2 - 1 by rangers in the cup final of 93 , might not of been 93 but certainly played in the game .
