Macclesfield Town fans are reporting that ICT have signed their former left-back Carl Tremarco.  This could perhaps suggest that Charlie Taylor isn't returning then.

Watching him run about Grant st park last night he reminded me of Golly, could be ok once his fitness levels improve.

Marley Watkins has primarily been used in pre-season games as a right winger however he can play left wing also. Danny Williams is a left winger who can play left back if required though. Tremarco sounds like a more traditional left back, no frills tough tackler where as Shinnie is more of a rampaging wing back

I wouldn't say Shinnie was a wing back at all. More a modern day full back along the lines of Ashley Cole.

Semantics

I would call David Raven a traditional full back, a defender who gets forward now and again to launch a cross into the box where as Shinnie is much more of an attacking threat who looks to drive forward whenever he can, what I would have called a wing back, just my opinion though

I do agree that most top clubs nowadays are looking for their full backs to have a bigger contribution in attacking phases of play.

Some confirmation about the Hooman deal falling through for the time being

It is a case of one defender in, one out after Butcher confirmed that Harry Hooman has returned south of the border to seek further treatment on a foot injury that resulted in him breaking down in pre-season training.

The 22-year-old, who was set to sign for Inverness after being released by Cheltenham Town, is set to see a specialist in a bid to resolve a problem with his big toe, which he had operated on in January.

Hooman did join up with the Caley Thistle squad when they returned to begin pre-season last month, but was soon in pain after a couple of days.

Butcher, however, will continue to monitor Hooman’s situation and has not ruled him out of a potential return to Inverness in the future

"We’re disappointed and he’s disappointed, but the door is still open for him," he said. "If he can get that sorted out then we would like to see him back here."
