Brewster was at the St Johnstone-Raith cup tie the other night.

Possible targets on the pitch - Andy Jackson, young St Johnstone striker who has scored about 10-12 goals this season and just turned 20.  Represented Republic of Ireland Under 18s.

Will the ?110,000 be used for this or the new contracts for the players that are going to be out of contract in the Summer.  We need players now as our squad is very poor at the moment.

Bennett was quoted on teletext saying that all of the money will be made available to Brewster to strengthen squad.

Is it? Barry Wilson, Richie Hart and Markus Paatelainen couldn't even make the bench last week. Rory and Zander had to go out on loan and Caff and Morgan had to move on. The squad we have right now has an impressive depth and we are more able to cope with injuries than some of the teams around us.

We can always improve the first XI though. The lack of pace in defence and attack was cruelly exposed at Easter Road and i'd like to see a defender and a striker/attacking midfielder brought in if we are serious about pushing for top 6.

Would rather have any of the 3 missing midfielders on the bench than Deano, Wilson, Markus and Hart can all offer us something going forward and in the middle.. Deano doesnt have anything.

We still need a keeper, assuming Malkowski's going back to Hibs. And a big, commanding centre half should be the other priority, there must be a few of them knocking around in the lower divisions.

Perhaps our eastern european scouting network is ready to bear some fruit?

In the last few weeks we have gone from having a squad that Brewster is happy with , to bringing in 2 or3 players with the Rankin money, especially a pacy forward,  to having strength in depth when you consider some of our younger players and then full circle to having a squad he's happy with but will strengthen if the right person becomes available  :029:

There is no dire need for new players - we all know what our players can be capable of.... it's just a question of trying to get them all to demonstate their capabilities at the same time....  :014:

He tried hard yesterday & took his goal well from quite an accute angle. Looks a good player , just short of match fitness is all.

Think he is only here until the end of the month though. May be a good idea to leave him a bit longer. :024:
