The second season of Punky Brewster will be in stores on May 17th 2008. This is awesome news for fans of ICT who were treated with the first season of Punky Brewster on Dundee United TV less than two years ago. The second season includes 22 episodes of changing systems and playing staff during the 2007-2008 season. If you are from the Sneck you surely remember and love Punky Brewster. Marius Niculae starred in this season as a loveable fading footballer who found a new home and enormous wages. Punky attended TCS and had daily adventures with his friends Grasser, Savage and Smiffy.

The Episodes

The episodes of the second season are a bit different than season 1. You can tell instantly that the writers tweaked the DVD a bit. Blackie is now much more warm to Punky and his friends, whereas during season 1 Blackie was much more grumpy and sometimes mean. Denzil doesn't make frequent appearances. Season 1 was primarily about Punky and his accepting that he is an arrogant judas and developing his relationship with a Butcher. Season 2 is for the most part about Punky and his tactical prowess. They build an awesome run in the episode "Punky's Pre Xmas points." In the two part episode, "The Perils of Punky," Punky and his friends are involved in a crazy point losing adventure that is very reminiscent of The Goonies and The Neverending Story. Punky is now in the mire and his master - Mr Savage (formerly Hale of Hale and Pace) plays a large part in Punky's life. Alan is a mentor and a friend, in a businessy back stabbing sense. In the episode, "Just Say No," when Punky and Richie are influenced to use drugs by an ultra cool group named The Beni, Alan helps Punky and Richie organize their own group of kids who Just Say No. In the episode, "The Search," Punky and Alan embark on a search to find cheap players in the transfer window. In a very bittersweet episode, Bambi and Maguire are reunited and Punky still doesn't find any points. The show goes back to it's Punky roots in the 5 part series "Changes." First Punky's career  is destroyed in the Bottom Six. Then Punky get's a vote of confidence. This sudden change of events threatens Punky's future with Alan as Super Robbo steps in.

Life Lessons

The tale of Punky has very clear morals. Punky's nearest neighbor TV show as far as morals and life lessons was The Fixer. The message was so clear it almost slapped you in the face. A perfect example of this is the episode "Just Say No." After Punky and Richie are inducted into the cool  group The Beni the lead ultra dumps a multitude of colored pills on the table. It looks like candy. Oh no, it's drugs! Punky and Richie say no. Punky then tells his mentor/employer Alan and they form their own team that is against drugs. The episode "New Year crashing down the table" is an anti-football episode in which Punky's beloved mentor Alan is arrested for imitating a Chairman when he gives a vote of confidence to Punky. Punky has to deal with mutiny in the episode "Boys Will Be Boys," when Granty, Russeldhino, Bayne, Rankin, Cowie, Blackie and even Marius turn their venom towards poor Punk. Alan eventually starts to support Punky in his challenge whilst employing his sucessor Robbo in a cushy Orion number.
