The Aberdeen match will be one of the biggest in our history regardless of who they put out. They believe they will finish second behind Celtic this season so we really need a huge effort to stop their march after the winter break. Brown has to succeed or he is out of football. They will be driven by the need not only for revenge on the 3-2 result but by the fact Ross County beat them 2-1. We will face dangerous players right up to the end of the season so Fraser's likely departure makes no difference. And...as we head into the second half, we have to figure out how not to get thumped by Motherwell again this season.

I for one can't wait to hear the Aberdeen fans crying about poor wee Ryan getting battered on the pitch. They gurn every time he goes to ground. He does get fouled a lot but that's what happens when you are a quick and tricky player like he is. The way Aberdeen fans react you would think he is getting kicked in the goolies every time and then someone lands a Peoples Elbow on him to finish the lad off.

The boy is mistaken to leave the SPL for a League One team (waits for someone to tell me its a better standard). While I'm sure its a good standard if he holds out at Aberdeen and actually plays first team football he could become a much better player. If he plays on Saturday I'm sure he will be knocked about the park (or so the ofter grumpy Dons fans would have you believe).

There's no doubting the lad's a talent but I'd be more worried about Cammy Smith , a much better prospect IMHO .

I've taught Ryan Jack and Cammy Smith at their respective secondary schools and have taken in quite a few of their youth games. Cammy is light years ahead of Ryan in terms of ability and attitude. He will definitely end up playing for Scotland IMO...

With the tanks we have in our midfield Gudgy Fraser is sure for a bumpy ride. Though Owain might avoid him after last time. Agreed about Cammy Smith. Looks like an excellent player from what ive seen of him so far this season. Was an absolute menace when he came on against us earlier in the season.

Surely we are at a stage where we should be fearing nobody - it is an old cliche but if we go out with our strongest X1 and play anywhere near our best we should get a result. Of course we have to consider threats and tactics of the opposition but lets let them worry about us.

As an aside - given the weather forecast is this game not in danger of postponement ?

Not according to BBC website, weather looks dry for a few days and not sustained sub zero either.

Forecast through in aberdeenshire is for up to 8" of snow tomorrow afternoon. Game may yet be postponed based on teh conditions of the A96 and ability of Dons fans to travel.

Out of interest have we ever had a game postponed because its been too dangerous for us to travel? Cant think of one tbh and Ive had some hairy moments on the A9 weather wise over the years!

Not according to BBC forecast. They have heavy rain tomorrow and saturday for Aberdeen. They have sunshine and part cloud for Inverness. They do have heavy snow forecast for Huntly though so A96 could well be affected.

Bit of trivia: Back in 1979 Inverness Thistle v Falkirk Scottish Cup 2nd round was postponed 29 times due to frozen pitch. The British record for postponements though is held by Airdrie v Stranraer, another SC game, postponed 33 times back in '63.

Jeez, are we getting like Englandshire or what? a bit of snow and its panic stations, send a couple of snowploughs up and down the road, its not just football traffic that use's the A96 after all.

Going to be pretty cold this afternoon, going to need a dram or 2 to fight the frost!!!!

A weather update for the traveling fans  its sunny in Inverness with a very light dusting of snow.

There has been no mention of a pitch inspection and no requests for help regarding clearing snow  by  ICT

Thank goodness this match is between 2 Northern clubs  who are used to  traveling
