Top 6 Fixtures

For your information, just before 6pm the SPL issued a statement to the effect that since they were still in discussion with broadcast partners and police, the fixture list is unlikely to be issued today.

Ironically the Highland League fixtures to the end of the season, including options to cover who may or may not reach the HL Cup Final, were issued at 5pm today.

The point that St Johnstone won last Monday against Dundee Utd meant that 5 teams were confirmed in the top 6.  The SPL at that point should have been able to work out the fixtures for each of the remaining 4 scenarios and could have asked the TV companies and the police for their views on that.  If the TV companies or Police were not prepared to discuss until the 6th team was confirmed then at least the SPL could have got the fixtures to TV and Police by 5pm on Saturday.  With no OF derby there should be no major policing issues so it all seems rather shabby to me.

and this is the organisation that wants a split to 8-8-8

a bigger farce I cannot think

How long does it take them to run the computer,

yes Dundee Utd did get in when all thought was Killie

Just do not want Celtic  away ( or home if that is our 2nd home match) on the 1st weekend

best for us  would be Motherwell  Celtc first weekend I think  unless Motherwell win!

>We will play Motherwell last for live tv

would accet that if were for 2nd place

get the job done by then and a party for both

Anyone have any idea on when about today the fixtures are likely to be announced?

I am getting fed up waiting, at this rate Andy Murray and GB Davis Cup team will know their next match before we know our next 5.

The other top six teams will have the advantage over us in that we play Celtic when they are motivated to secure the title whereas they play them when they will have little to play for.

Celtic could win the league without kicking a ball if Motherwell slip up on the Saturday (unless they are schduled a sunday game) then they would have nothing to play for when playing us so really it's a moot point.

If we are playing Celtic first and they do win the title you'd imagine that they might take their foot off the gas thereafter which could give an advantage to teams trying to catch us in third (or maybe second) spot.

There is no chance that Celtic will put their foot of the gas, Mr Lennon wouldn't allow it

What is taking them so long, they've made a start by announcing Celtic v Caley is Celtic 1st post split match so surely they can't be that far off announcing the other matches!

lest hope we are in third or second and cannot be caught then we can all take our towels sun cream and sun hats

they will not need them as they will be in the shade

Dingwall on the last day by all accounts - nice!

The shortest Highland march on record with the most marchers ?
