The draw is on Thursday - after the games tonight and tomorrow. It's the last round to be seeded, with the 8 top-ranked clubs being kept apart.
We're seeded, so, who knows, given a favourable draw, we could soon be in a major quarter-final, just one game away from a return to Hampden! It's things like this that can 'change' the dynamics of a season.
Some potentially really tough opponents though in the last 16!

Celtic (1)

Aberdeen (2)

Inverness Caley Thistle (3)

St Johnstone (4)

Dundee United (5)

Dunfermline Athletic (29) v Dundee (6)
Raith Rovers (18) v Hamilton Accies (7)
Partick Thistle (8) v Falkirk (17)
Ross County (9) v Ayr United (30)

Kilmarnock (10) v Berwick Rangers (40)
East Fife (36) v Motherwell (11)

St Mirren (12) v Livingston (20)

Forfar Athletic (25) v Hearts (13)

Hibernian (14) v Stranraer (24)

Airdrieonians (27) v Rangers (15)
Queen of the South (16) v Morton (23)

With the obvious exception of Hearts, it's effectively Premiership-seeded and 'lower league'-unseeded. Privately, I'd imagine all the seeded clubs will be wanting to avoid Hearts.
I'd like a home tie against our old foes, Livingston! Just looked back, and it's ten seasons since we last played them! (2005/06 SPL)

Apologies for the formatting shambles in the OP! (wouldn't have happened on the 'old' interface!) :tongueincheek:

Livingston away for us. Definitely one of the better ties we could have got.

We can't complain. Away from home and hardly a money spinner but gives us a good chance of progressing which is the main thing.

Would be nice to have a forward on board by then.

Game takes place on Tuesday 22nd September.

In a real shock to the system the BBC have picked Rangers v Saint Johnstone as their live TV game for the round.

Good to see they are giving the newer sides some much needed coverage.

After our win at Livingston, we're in the hat for the quarter-final draw.

Today at 2.30pm from Hampden.
The draw is unseeded. There's the potential for a Highland derby, plus Edinburgh and Tayside derbies...

  • Inverness Caley Thistle
  • Ross County
  • Hearts
  • Hibernian
  • Dundee United
  • St Johnstone
  • Celtic
  • Morton

Normally to win the cup you'd have to beat the best so I'll go with a home draw against Celtic...it'll be they're second string and tbh I see there being as much chance of us beating them than anyone!

Obviously if you want a big shot at another semi final then Morton or Dundee Utd would be 2 of the better draws but there's more chance of making the final and going for it if we can beat Celtic early on! When it comes to semi finals and finals they start playing a stronger team so catching them when they're weaker would be better.

Either that or hope that someone else can beat them and we beat our opponents.

The ties are due in the midweek of 27th/28th October. If we are at home, then we'll have three home games in a row at the end of the month.

October 24th (Saturday)  ICT v St Johnstone
October 27th/28th (Tues/Wed)  League Cup quarter-final
October 31st (Saturday)  ICT v Dundee

If I was a manager, I'd be trotting-out the narrative, "...I don't mind who we get, but would like a home tie...", but privately would be hoping to get Morton!
County would be a great draw too, and would be certainly be the biggest cup match to date, between the teams.

It really is!
Inverness CT v Ross County!
As I mentioned above, it'll be the biggest cup game between the sides. The biggest County-Inverness game ever? We played them a couple of years ago in a match that could have seen us qualify for Europe, but lost - however, this time the prize is the same for both clubs. So, it's the biggest one yet! Just when we thought we'd seen it all!

Ach we've had bigger, remember Foran/Roberts equaliser......................pfft, no problem.
