Going OT but one thing that cannot be said about (John) Hughes is that he isn't a good coach.

We have appointed a Head of Physical Performance:

Is it a new role or is he replacing someone?

Presumably his task is to improve fitness levels in a way that minimises the risk of injuries?

Can't believe we've not had a dedicated person/department for this, despite squandering resources in the 'glory years'.

Did we not have a fitness coach a few years back?

Miles Storey has posted on social media that he is assuming he will be off as no contract offer has been received and no one from the club has been in touch with him. Really poor to leave players in limbo like this and it wouldn't take much to reach out to them. There are plenty of rumours swirling around who has gone and who might be gone but some clarification from the club would be welcome.

That is pretty grim.

From what I can tell, ICT are one of only four clubs in the whole SPFL who haven't confirmed player releases yet - the others are Celtic (whose player contracts run till the end of June), Annan (who have announced releases in dribs and drabs) and newly promoted Kelty Hearts. It is just downright weird that the club haven't said anything yet...and even weirder if they haven't bothered to tell the players either...

Training starts tomorrow I think and there will be players who are out of contract who don't know if they should be there or not. Laughable stuff really.

So if you don't get a shout for training, you're no longer required...

Very poor show ,thought we'd got past that.

Totally agree it's embarrassing if that is true. If they are not being offered a new contract they should at least be told.

They know perfectly well that they shouldn’t be there, seeing as they ceased to be ICT players when their contracts expired, and they haven’t been offered new contracts.

Sounds like communication has been poor though….but there are 2 sides to every storey.

This is the most important role in our club. We have been dismal at season starts, season restarts, and injury prevention for key players.

But we also need to book an all weather training facility now for all next season to allow an alternative location if bad weather, covid or other issues impact training sessions.

I agree, the Storey who initially arrived with his magic hat was a very different proposition to the Storey who has pitched up at various clubs ever since.

Anyone heard anything about Raith’s Duku joining us . Overheard a conversation in a bar this afternoon. It all went quiet just after half time

It's not like us to be vague, uncommunicative and borderline unprofessional. So I'm struggling to believe this situation is possible.

Communication is two way. Surely the player, or his agent, would be trying to pin the club down to know if an offer is likely, whilst the club should advise those they are not planning to have talks with that they should look elsewhere.

I wonder if we are speaking to any of our other contract players about new deals.

As season tickets are about to be on sale, it is only reasonable that we fans gave some indication as to what the club’s plans are.

I know from a mutual friend that James Vincent was told weeks ago by Robbo that he wouldn't be offered a new contract. That was before Billy Dodds was appointed.

Sounds like he or his agent contacted us but we declined to make an offer, given that he says he spoke to ICT, and later says there were League One and League Two sides interested in him (but not Championship sides).

There's a worrying pattern emerging (again) where we are not bothering our backsides to communicate with players about new deals. Whilst I respect @Yngwie's comment earlier about two sides to every story it's hard not to fall down on the side of the players given the number of times this has happened. Players finding out through social media or newspapers they won't be getting a deal or being left voicemails and then not replying to follow up calls or simply not being spoken to at all. It's pathetic.

I was hoping he would stay with us but thought he might move on when we weren't hearing anything.

Thanks Toddy and good luck for the future.

From his comments is it not just the case that he has chosen to leave, presumably because he knows of better offers from elsewhere?

Why is it an embarrassing move by the club? If he's out of contract and wants to move on what can the club do about it.

Cos if it turns out he's in the same boat as Storey, then that's two forwards we've let through our fingers rather than keeping them on when they've shown they're absolutely class

I suppose the embarrassing thing about it is the lack of info from the club regarding contracts. It's not ideal when we get it first on social media direct from the players. Come on ICT, get the official statements out and end all the whataboutery.
