Seen we're linked with a move for Joe Chalmers, experienced pro which will be good for the younger players and always thought he had good set piece delivery. Hopefully not on a crazy high wage either. Saw Nolan was released by United, wonder if he could tempted up?

Also seen Christie had 'promising' discussions with Savage and Allan's agents so hopefully there's a decision either way soon.

Keeping Savage would be a big deal, ditto Allan...just feel they showed so much for us that someone will surely snap them up. Chalmers would work for us in this league, and when I saw Nolan released I had the same thought as you, he started off quite brightly for us, but tailed off a bit, but another season under Scott K and he could develop quite nicely. Replacing the lively Bray, the goals of Bavidge, and Dibiga in goal along with Savage/Allan are all big asks aren't they?

Freed Dunfermline midfielder could return to old club

Freed Dunfermline midfielder Joe Chalmers could be on his way back to Inverness Caley Thistle.

The 31-year-old is out of contract after being released by the Pars last month and is being trailed by a number of possible suitors.

He was one of 14 players who said goodbye to the East End Park club in the wake of a disappointing campaign.

The Fifers avoided relegation to League One late on, in part thanks to the 15-point deduction suffered by Hamilton Accies.

Chalmers made three appearances after the arrival of Neil Lennon as manager for the final seven matches. The pair had worked together previously at Celtic.

However, after 30 outings across the season – and 125 during his three and a half years at the club – he was not offered a new contract.

The experienced play-maker’s availability has alerted rival clubs in the Championship.

But it is understood Caley Thistle have held talks with the former Motherwell and Ayr United player and made clear their interest.

Chalmers could team up with ex-Par

He previously spent two seasons with Inverness after joining in the summer of 2017 and racked up 96 appearances before departing for Premiership football with Highland rivals Ross County.

The Caley Jags are expected to be able to make new signings from next week after a deal to come out of administration was agreed.

Chalmers could join up with former Dunfermline team-mate Paul Allan, who spent last term with the Highlanders and is in talks over a contract extension.

My only concern with Nolan would be high wages after leaving United, and there will be a number of offers from the lower leagues of England that could offer closer to what he wants. Like you said, started out well but I don't think he set the world alight to make me think we should make him one of our high earners.

Definite priorities for me is a GK and an attacker that can push McKay for a starting place, neither of those will come cheap

Chalmers would be a decent addition.

I don’t disagree with that others have said, but we also need a right back given Davidson will miss a lot of the season if he does stay with us.

If Savage and Allan stay that will be a real bonus.

Should be good at this level, but if he’s to be the “marquee signing” I’ll be disappointed!

That's more like a small tent signing.

I was going to say bivvy bag, but that’s probably unfair to the ‘guy’.

We're still a league 1 club with limited resources. It's not going to take much to be a marquee signing at this level.

Press Release:

"Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to announce that midfielder Paul Allan has agreed an initial 1 year contract extension with the club.

We are thrilled that Paul will rejoin us for the upcoming season and look forward to welcoming him, with the rest of the squad, back for pre-season training next week.
Head Coach Scott Kellacher said: “Everyone at the club is delighted that Paul has extended his contract with us. He was a massive part of the team last year and he will be going forward too.”
Paul Allan said: “I’m happy to have signed up and I’m looking forward to getting back for pre-season. Now things off the pitch are moving forward positively, I’m hopeful we can have a right good crack at it in the new season."

As an ambitious league one team I think we represent a good deal for him!

Which of the teams would you say were unambitious?

Good news Paul has signed on again  things are looking good.

Chalmers would be a great signing.

Really need to see a keeper and a new striker come in, though. Cannot afford to go into this season with BM as our only option upfront

Technically we are not out of administration and whilst Paul has agreed a 12 month extension we do not what constraints the Club is still under for signing players. If anyone is more up to date than me please advise.

We will agree it and then sign when we are officially out of admin.  It's all been agreed, it's just waiting for it to pass through the legal process.

Logan Ross.jpgThere's him

Logan Ross signs on

Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Logan Ross on a 1-year deal.

Logan, 21 years-old, is from Inverness and came through the academy at Ross County, signing his first professional deal at the club when he was 16 years old.

During his time at Ross County, Logan had loan spells with Lossiemouth, Brora Rangers, Huntly, Elgin City, Forres Mechanics, Nairn County and Clachnacuddin.

Upon signing, Logan said: “I’m absolutely delighted to get it all done. I’m looking forward to pre-season, getting going and seeing what the season brings.”

Head Coach Scott Kellacher said: “We’re delighted to get Logan signed. He’s been through the system at Ross County and he’s played nearly 100 games in the Highland League. We’re looking forward to seeing him for the start of pre-season.”

What are we thinking, will he be back-up keeper to someone more experienced or are we hoping he can quickly step up to league football like Musa did and be first choice?

One year deal would suggest to me that it's viewed as a chance for him to step up, if it doesn't work out then he can be let go at the end of the season. If it was a backup keeper then I would have thought a 2 - 3 year deal so can develop and get the odd game throughout the season

Doesn't really matter what we think as doubt many of us will have ever seen him play and can't really comment on how good he is. He's played a lot of games, albeit at Highland league level but that's good experience.

With the filing on Company House today, and the first new player in the door, I'm going to hazard a guess that necessary paperwork has been completed, and we're just awaiting the filing/announcement.
