Apparently they reported on Radio Scotland earlier today that Brew is retiring from playing at the end of the season. probably no real surprise but he was a great player in his day  :clapping03:

Good move.  At 40-something (just a boy!) it's probably a good idea for him to hang up the boots and concentrate on the managerial side of things.

Craig Brewster....my hero!    :love12:

I think that it is difficult to be a manager and a player, but he seemed to cope with it okay.  I'm pretty sure that his shoulder injury will have influenced his decision.  He kicks every ball from the dug out anyway.  He took a few shots on Saturday.  :003:

I hope he will consider putting in an appearance between now and the end of the season - if he is injury free and fit -

It would also be good if the supporters were given the opportunity to give him a good send off as a player....

Coming from Dunfermline, Brewster was the reason for me going to watch Caley, when he replaced Robbo...

Does a player/manager get additional pay for being a player? In other words, will his retirement free up any money to go towards a replacement striker for the squad?

So it's all his fault  :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

This is quite a big loss to us. On Grampian he was quoted as saying he would play if needed before the end of the season. Let's hope the other guys dig in and keep the competition and results positive.

Ok... Laugh if you want.... I think it is very significant that in my last year in Dunfermline town, the Pars not only finished 4th in the SPL they also reached the Scottish Cup Final....

Look what's happened since then...!! Caley are now on the verge of a top six (maybe higher) finish, and where are the Pars..?

Some might suggest Caley have progressed since Brewster became involved here, and that the Pars have gone into a deep decline since his departure...

I think it's something much deeper than that.....  and it should be a reminder to any club, just how important some its supporters are...  :018:

The Highland News has got the full story on two pages, including a lengthy interview so if you're in its circulation area, run out and get a copy. If not I'm afraid you'll have to wait until ithe HN comes online or when the HN story goes on to the official ICT website tomorrow.

DOH - retiring at the end of the season  :024: You mean he is holding his registration until the end of the season - just in case we have an injury crisis or becos he can have a swansong as JB rightly points out.

Deserves a testimonial, terrific player, you have to be to carry Crawford like that for so long.

Technically and physically a wonderful player, the best technical player we have in our squad. Its a pity we couldn't get a bit more out of him.
